OCIAA Sports coordinator Chris Mayo will be retiring after nearly 30 years of being an integral part of Section 9 athletics. Chris did much of his work behind the scenes but cared deeply about our athletes and was one of the good guys on the high school scene. Please wish Chris good luck in retirement. He's back! Hard-throwing righty reliever James Karinchak has been called up by the Atlanta Braves. Karinchak, a Valley Central graduate, last pitched in the majors in September of 2023 for the Cleveland Guardians.
