More signs going up soon for our family property at
Purgatory Pass of Caddo County

Some people have been going on the property without permission claiming their map took them to that route and they HAD to crossover gates even when multiple signs tell them...
NO TRESPASSING!

FOR the offroad, overlanding, bikes, atvs, or anyone that doesn't have direct permission from the LANDOWNER ....
you are NOT ALLOWED ACCESS!
You are breaking the law.

And for the people climbing on the walls of the canyon on public roads, you are causing much washouts and damage to the property around the area. Just use common sense. We are all for you enjoying the outdoors... but don't do damage to roads by doing donuts, climbing, fires, trash, etc.

People farm the land and need the roads as good as they can be to haul livestock and other things in and out. Makes it difficult with ruts in a barely maintained road.

Take care of the beauty in nature and we have no problem. For many people do not understand the following....
LEAVE NO TRACE!

It means leave a place better than you found it as if noone has been there for the next person to enjoy it as well.

I believe a lot of people love the beauty in nature enough to take care of places, even places that are not their own.

However, some people do not have respect for themselves, much less for what belongs to others or for the beauty of nature.

We have made more improvements to Purgatory, especially at the gates of Purgatory Pass of Caddo County

I have tried to make it pretty at the gates (despite the headshakes I get from the husband), and unique for the many passing by. I worked weeks to clean up trash, and branches with an added touch of flowers and solar lights. I did this in hopes that people would appreciate the beauty and take care leaving no trace as they stop to admire the scenery.

Last weekend we painted the old cellar of Clift Dale School to cover the ugliness people have marked on it in recent years (profane images). The color, I thought, was perfect, "Nevermore" to match the ambiance of the seclusion of the property.

We had some theft last week, and we have the tag number AND the exact names with a picture of both the men and the vehicle. Local authorities are already aware of it and watching out for them.

I implore any and all of you who follow this page and enjoy driving out to Purgatory, to please keep a watch and if you see anything suspicious in nature, to send me a message on here. Dee Sage

A picture of a vehicle is great, a tag number is better. We do have it leased for hunting, so you may see our hunter from time to time, but he has access through the gates already.

As the backroad groups have increased in followers and in number traveling the Sugar Creek Loop, I know it is stressed to leave no trace and not tear up the roads with off-road climbing vehicles or donuts in the roads causing ruts making it difficult for us local farmers to perform daily activities hauling crops or cattle when needs be.

Please understand we want you to enjoy family outings, yet we still make a living from agriculture in this and surrounding counties. Many families do.

My daddy taught me, along with my girl scout troop, to leave a place better than you found it. I truly hope you do the same and urge you to spread the word not just here, but any place you go.

I hope you enjoy passing by our gates now that they are looking pretty green from the spring rain.

DO NOT LITTER🚯 signs put up and hopefully people will stop littering anywhere... especially at our gates and land.

Tons of jeep and off road vehicles coming through to experience the beauty and I truly don't believe it's them who trash things out as most live by LEAVE NO TRACE and take care of the land they travel past. 🌏🌐🌏

I worked hard to clean up years worth of cans, bottles, and other trash.

Please appreciate what we see in our property and help us keep it clean and beautiful. 🌄

Purgatory Pass of Caddo County is historic in this area. The cellar is all that's left of Clift Dale School. I am trying to find more information about it to put a historical marker there. 🏫
