Storm Watch & Cooler Temps
The region is shifting toward cooler fall-like weather after a cold front moved in. Highs reached about 74 °F in the metroplex, with warmer days ahead later in the week. 
Meanwhile meteorologists are warning of strong storms expected to move in, bringing gusty winds (up to about 60 mph) and possible quarter-sized hail — mainly east of I-35. 

Shooting in Southern Fort Worth
Police in the southern part of Fort Worth responded to a shooting in which two minors were wounded. Both were transported to a hospital as the investigation continues. 

Film Industry Growth in Fort Worth
The film business keeps expanding: acclaimed producer/director Taylor Sheridan is developing a massive new studio space in Fort Worth. The planned facility will be 5-8 times larger than his current 450,000 sq ft site in Alliance, making it one of the largest in Texas. City leadership sees the film industry as a major economic driver, with estimates of 50,000+ jobs and around $1 billion in impact for the region.

New Grocer Location for Rockwall
The Texas-based supermarket chain H‑E‑B is planning a new 131,000-sq-ft store in Rockwall (south-east of Dallas) that will include a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru, True Texas BBQ restaurant, and home-delivery & curbside pickup options. 
The grand opening is slated for October 29, 2025 at 6 a.m. at the I-30 & S. John King Blvd location

Festival Ride’s Farewell
The State Fair of Texas in Dallas will retire its popular “Log Ride” attraction at the end of the 2025 season. The ride, debuted in 1986, has been a longtime favorite on the fair’s Midway. 
Visitors are encouraged to “take one last ride” before it disappears — the fair still features 70+ other attractions.

A Fort Worth, Tx man is recovering in the hospital after being shot multiple times early Sunday morning in north Fort Worth.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 2 a.m. in the 3800 block of North Terry Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from several gunshot wounds to his back.

Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital. As of now, his condition remains unknown.

The Fort Worth Police Department called in SWAT to assist at the scene. Around 8 a.m., a person of interest was detained in connection with the incident. No further details about the individual or possible charges have been released.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

Officials say the case remains active as they continue to gather information.

𝕬 new residential neighborhood is taking shape in Granbury as Landsea Homes unveils Pirate Village, a thoughtfully planned community of single-family homes. A public grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering visitors the chance to tour model homes, enjoy pirate-themed giveaways, and grab a free Kona Ice treat from 2 to 4 p.m.

𝕿he community will consist of 72 homes, featuring both one and two-story floorplans across 10 unique designs. Home sizes range from 1,455 to 2,900 square feet, with options including three to four bedrooms and up to two-and-a-half bathrooms. A variety of exterior styles and personalized features allow buyers to choose a home that fits their lifestyle. Pricing begins at around $319,990 af the time of current posting.
