First double digit bass!!!
Little bit of a crazy story behind this one lol. Me and my buddy decided to go try out a lake we had never been to before, but had seen a lot of big fish come out of recently. Main idea was to target whatever would bite from the bank throwing a bunch of different setups for a bunch of different species. First thing we did when we pulled up to our first spot and throw some baits around for bass and take advantage of what we had left of the morning bite. Sam wasn’t rigged up yet but I had a 6 inch hangover tied on my Milliken Pro series seimbait rod and Megatron 200 setup so I started slinging it as far as I could off a small main lake point. Third cast I felt a thump on the end of my rod I had never felt before and set the hook. The fish got wrapped around two rocks before I was able to finally haul it to Sam to scoop with the net. Next, we tried to weigh it, but the scale was dead, so Sam ran to the boat ramp to try and find someone but nobody was there, everyone was already on the water and there were no bank fisherman near us. But, as soon as Sam got back, someone pulled up to launched their boat so he booked it in his truck to see if he had either a scale or batteries we could borrow. He ended up giving us the batteries we needed for our scale and got it weighed, weighing in at 11 pounds even. Not sure the name of the man who gave us the batteries but he was definitely a blessing from the good Lord above. Hold it in the water throughout the whole process and swam off strong. About 4 casts later I proceeded to land a 7lb 9oz football and the same setup. Overall, an insane day and nothing short of a miracle and blessing from the good Lord above and so great full for this opportunity.
