There are still kind individuals in the world. Today is our first shift back and I went to the store for groceries to cook breakfast for the tour which for y’all who don’t know is 5 days. Went to pay for the groceries and machine wasnt taking my card. After the cashier done everything she could to eliminate the possibility of the machine malfunctioning, I told here I would just go get cash. The gentleman that was behind me told the cashier he would pay for it and gave her his card. The gentleman said consider it a donation to the fire department. I thanked the man and shook his hand. On behalf of my shift sir thank you again for the kindness and helpful gesture. Where ever you are.

Some of y’all may not know but I’m big into civil war and WWII history. As we set sail we passed what is remaining of Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter marked the beginning of the civil war of April 1961 and was the first confederate victory. The fort stayed in the confederate control until 1964 when it would finally fall to Union soldiers after years and numerous attempts to gain control of the fort.
