🚨 ARE WE REWRITING HISTORY INSTEAD OF LEARNING FROM IT?
George Floyd had a lengthy criminal record, including a 2007 aggravated robbery conviction. Yet statues and memorials have been created in his honor while monuments to other figures in American history have been removed.
For many Americans, that raises a serious question: Who should society choose to honor — and what values should our monuments represent?
History shouldn’t be selectively rewritten to fit a political narrative. We should be able to acknowledge the full truth, reject double standards, and preserve an honest understanding of America’s past.
Enough with rewriting history. Tell the whole story and let Americans decide what deserves to be remembered. 🇺🇸
