This Memorial Day Ride started at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Rifle, where we honored the men and women who gave everything for our freedoms. From there, 123 bikes rolled through Rifle Gap, Harvey Gap, Silt, and New Castle; and along Highway 6, two F‑16s tore across the sky above us. The sound hit your chest before your ears. Every rider felt it.

I peeled off to block an intersection in Silt, then rejoined the group to ride through the VA Home, where a few residents waved as the parade of bikes rolled past. We ended the day at the Garfield County Fairgrounds with food, raffles, auctions, and a biker rodeo put on by the Fellowship Riders of the Narrow Road.

Together, this community raised over $9,500 for local veterans and their families.
And just three days later, those funds helped fund a military funeral for a homeless veteran; a man with no family, but who still deserved to be laid to rest with dignity and honor.

This is why we ride.
This is why this community matters.
All gave some. Some gave all.

It's always an honor to participate in the annual Memorial Day Ride and honor those who gave everything for our freedoms 🇺🇸 all while raising funds to help local veterans in need 🖤

14 years ago a little girl came into my life. Small, kind, loving, and with the sweetest little laugh. When her father and I separated I was lucky enough to continue being a part of her life. Over the years, her mom and I even became close friends. 🖤

Now, 14 years later, here I am in Tennessee to watch her walk across the stage for graduation 🎓 and celebrate her 18th birthday 🎂 (though I'll have to leave before the actual day).

Laci, I am forever grateful to be a part of your life. Thank you for letting me continue to love you and cheer you on over the years. You have been through more than your fair share of trials and tribulations over your short 18 years and have come out the other side still kind, still loving, and even stronger and smarter than we could ever ask for. I love you so much! 🖤

Also thank you to Samantha for allowing me to keep being a part of her life, for being my friend, and for making it possible for me to be here 🫂

I love Colorado, but a part of my heart will always be in Appalachia. I may have only grown up part-time in the holler but it shaped me to who I am today. 🖤 Thankful to be "Appalachian raised".

Most of y'all don't know, but I'm the proud daughter of an Appalachian coal miner. Before his passing my dad worked for years in the mines after even more years working in the oil fields. He was a man who worked with his hands to provide for me and build the life he wanted. I'm very proud of him and all of my friends who also worked or still work in the mines. I also still love viewing and reading miner history. So, when I saw this roadside museum with a giant bucket, I just had to stop and check it out. Along with this 40 ton bucket, they had other historic mining equipment and a wall of miners. Definitely worth a stop if you're ever in this part of the world.

This ride pushed me in ways I didn’t expect...

There were moments where the cold cut straight through my layers, where the wind tried to shove us off the road, and where the miles felt heavier than they should’ve. There was also something powerful about watching the sun rise and set from the saddle, about chasing a goal that felt just out of reach, about refusing to quit even when every part of me wanted to.

Thankfully, I didn’t do it alone.

I’m grateful for Tia, who rode every inch of this with me; steady, stubborn, and just as determined. When I started to fade, she kept me moving. When the cold got brutal, we reminded each other why we were doing this in the first place. This wasn’t just a long-distance challenge, it was a reminder of what grit, partnership, and a little bit of stubbornness can accomplish.

Then there was our guys cheering us on from hundreds and hundreds of miles away. That support mattered more than they know.

Now, it's time to share this journey with you.

1,076 miles...
20ish hours...

The ride that tested us and changed us.
