In a state park with over 17 miles of designated hiking trails...find one you haven't explored before and it'll lead you to places you'd never expect to discover.

🥾 This particular trail was grassy, the weather was drizzly and we had light rain showers from time to time.

🎣 We came across two people making their way up the South Branch Root River fly fishing in hopes of catching a Trout.

🏞 Partway down the trail and before looping back through the prairie and woods, we looked up and saw these huge cliffsides.

🐦 Swallows didn't seem to mind the rain as they dove for mayflies that had hatched, then swooped back up to their nests in the cliffsides.

🥾 Take this as your sign to get outside today, take a trail or path or sidewalk you've never explored before and keep your heart open and curious as to what might be around the next bend.

A spring ephemeral 🌸 that has eluded our spring hiking adventures; was finally found during a spur-of-the-moment adventure the day we went searching for [and successfully found] the 💛🖤🐦 Yellow-Headed Blackbirds in Freeborn County, Southern Minnesota.

👖 I was so stinking excited to see these breeches blowing in the breeze as if they were pants hanging on a clothesline in the summertime!!

🌸 Dutchman's Breeches [Dicentra cucullaria] is a woodland spring ephemeral, and is native to Minnesota and the surrounding Midwest.

🌤 Just as my research revealed, it appears on the forest floor in pockets of sunshine; it's outer petals making an iconic V shape which resembles pantaloons/pants/britches/breeches 😉

🌸 Find it blooming in the early spring from March to April. And, look but don't touch ☝️ because the flowers wilt immediately after picking so ⚠️ do not collect these in Parks or wild places.

🌱 Take time today to find yourself a nature moment. Even if it's simply stepping outside your door to breathe in the unusually warm springtime air. 🌸 A little nature goes a long way for each of us.

How many Trout fry can you spot underwater? 🐟

🥾 While hiking over the Volga River we discovered a well-used trail that lead down to the water's edge...Cole was in the water before I [Amanda] could even hike down the trail!

He encouraged me to step in as well; and I gingerly stepped in with one foot, and then the other...the water was SO cold 🥶

🔭 My first instinct was [of course] to see what was going on underwater... there were so many fish I was caught a bit off guard. And while I was filming, Cole spotted a large Rainbow Trout behind me.

We just returned to our camper after attending the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the cemetery where my [Amanda's] grandfathers are buried.

🇺🇲 It's an incredible honor to attend each year in memory of them and all others who have served.

🪖 Every year the list of names gets longer. Every year we are reminded of the sacrifices laid down for our freedom. Taps never gets easier to hear, but it sure fuels some memories that get buried in day to day life.

🇺🇲 Today we remember those who sacrificed, fought, and served for our freedom. They gave the ultimate sacrifices for us to have what we have today. Remember their names, document their stories, never forget.

Oh a Wanderin' we will go. 🥾

🥾 After a bit of a stressful moment this week, we decided to put on the hiking sandals and wander the neighborhood...

🌳 Found a new-to-us peaceful oasis hidden just down the road.

🦆 A place where if you simply tune out the street noise and focus on the water and birds, it felt like you were not in town anymore.

🦌 a few ladies spotted us just after we spotted them too.

🥾 Today, be sure to step outside and take a hike a direction you may not have hiked before...or down a road or sidewalk or trail that maybe it's been a little too long since you've explored it. You never know what the next nature moment may entail.

🌱 Find yourself a nature moment today no matter how big or small it may be. A little nature goes a long way for each of us.

New Video up on our 🔴 YouTube Channel: How to Wax Your Camper, RV, or Travel Trailer to be Ready for Camping Season

💪 We use a combination of muscle and machine, as well as highly recommended products to protect the exterior coating. We'll be doing this all over again next weekend to spruce up the exterior and protect it for the season.

⛺️ It takes time, but it's well worth it to protect our investment in our "Caboose."
