WTIP will be kicking off the Fall 2014 season of Youth Radio with a training session on Tuesday, October 7, starting at 4 p.m. WTIP invites all students in 8th through 12th grades to take part in its Youth Radio Project.

Jocelin and Shae of the Youth Radio Project want to talk about books and reading! Here are some questions for you to consider:

What is your favorite book and why?
What is your favorite genre of books and what draws you to that genre?
How do you know how to pick a good book?
Why should kids read and what should kids read?
Which do you like better: e-books or regular 'old- fashioned' books? Why is one kind better?

We were lucky to have the opportunity to speak with Sergio Portesan, intern at the Minnesota Historical Society, about a neat project he and other students are working on to build an exhibit on Iraqi youth life with a group of students in Baghdad, Iraq. Check it out!

Sergio Portesan is a student at Colorado College who works with the Minnesota Historical Society on a project to connect American students to Iraqi students and help them set up an exhibit on youth culture in Baghdad, Iraq.
