Hello all, last weekend we lost Toledo Radio legend and 98.7 Towpath Radio DJ Bill Michaels. Bill had been in Toledo radio in some way, shape, or form over the last 30 years. You probably heard him on WIOT, Kiss-FM, WXKR, and more recently he contributed his talents to 98.7 Towpath Radio, the flagship of our small radio/ streaming group.

Today on 98.7 Towpath Radio we're going to honor Bill with one last show. At noon and 5 we're blasting all Van Halen in honor of Bill. Van Halen was his favorite band so we find it fitting that we rock as hard as we can.

William Gary Nagucki
December 20, 1970 - August 24, 2025

William Gary Nagucki, 54 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. The son of Donald and Judith (Degner) Nagucki, he was born December 20, 1970 in Toledo, OH.
An operations manager, he had a career that spanned over 30 years as a radio professional in the Toledo and Northern, Michigan market working for KISS FM, WIOT, and 94.5 XKR. Most recently he worked at Amazon and Towpath Radio 98.7.
William made friends everywhere with his great smile and infectious loud laugh. A very funny guy he loved music, golf, football, especially Michigan!! He was loved by his family, friends, ex-wife, and coworkers.
He is survived by his mother, Judith Nagucki; son, William D. Nagucki; sisters, Marsha Nagucki, Cheri (Jay) Craley; brother, Leonard Nagucki; nephew, Jason; niece, Heather (Kris) Richardson; great-niece, Kinsey; and ex-wife, Heather Brackney. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.

Bill Michaels was a part of Toledo radio history. From the heyday of the ’90s to his most recent role on 98.7 Towpath Radio, his voice was one of those that became part of the fabric of Northwest Ohio. We’re saddened to share his passing.

Not sure what's more impressive in this video from the incident in BG/ Maumee yesterday, the car fire, the arrest, or the fact that smoky bear kept his hat on the entire time!?!?!
