This January, we hosted our first Midbest Fest and we can’t even begin to express our level of gratitude to every artist and fan that continues to pull up to our events. We’re so excited to keep expanding and nurturing these connections, opening more doors for artists in the 616, and bringing more excellent performances to our city through events like this.

That being said, the next event on our calendar is May 31 when we will be assisting at for Midwest vs Everybody. Details on page 🗓️

616 Records is excited to announce that we have added a new artist to our roster: Jachai.

Jachai. is a talented wordsmith with a unique voice and focus on self-reflection and vulnerability. He never wants to stop learning and aims to share messages of growth and break down complex topics in a digestible, but bar-heavy, manner.

Jachai. has said about joining the label: “I appreciate [616 Records] for letting me be a part of the team and for all the input and everything that [they] give me. I’m just happy to contribute in any way that I possible can.”

Throwback to Rap Ave 12, the finale of our Rap Ave series. This was such a cool experience to host a recurring showcase in an intimate setting, where artists could network, perform, and get more in touch with our community. We had dope artists from all across Michigan (and some from Chicago) meeting each other and creating bonds right here at ArtRat Gallery on South Division.

Thank you to everyone that supported this series and thank you especially to the artists that came through and gave their all in the spirit of collaboration.
