This quote comes at the perfect time to match up with Instagrams new updates…

The algorithm is going to be shifting and this is great news especially for small creators but also highly beneficial for larger accounts as well.

Instagram will now start favoring original content (so stay original) they are going so far as to label reposts, giving the original creators credit 👏 and pushing out the original post in place of the aggregators repost.

This does not effect remixes, sequences, or using trending audios 🙌

The other big algorithm update is that Instagram will now open up the initial first push of your content to people they think will like it, not just to your followers like before.

✨ This is huge for smaller creators ✨

With everyone screaming for authenticity, real, raw, and relatable these changes are coming at the perfect time.

And with the rise of lightly edited reels, more behind the scenes looks, and less aesthetically focused content there has never been a better time to start posting on instagram.

Don’t fall into the trap of repeating what you’ve seen everyone else doing and thinking that it will happen for you too.

You have to have passion and purpose.

It’s been said a million times “be authentic”

We can see through the bullsh!t 🫣

Find that 1 small thing that you love, that you can talk about all day everyday, that you already know more about than the average person and deep dive into that and share it everywhere.

You do have something to share, everyone does, but you may have to take a good long look to see what that thing is and then trust yourself.

If your business is your passion it will never feel like a job.

Consistency can be tough.

Take it from me 😌

I lose motivation, I struggle with imposter syndrome, I wonder when or if I am wasting time, I feel mom quilt if I’m on my phone toooo much, but then worry I’m not “engaging” enough or building my community.

The struggle is real. 😏

But I do know that nothing changes if nothing changes.

So here’s your (and my) daily reminder to take action. Build habits. Set realistic goals. Most of all…. Don’t quit your daydream 😌

Wanna know why ⬇️

Cause someday usually never comes.

I know I constantly put things off til the last minute and you know where that gets me…

Rushing around, running late, full of anxiety, missing opportunities 🤦‍♀️

And then when I finally do do that thing, whether it’s creating a new digital product, starting an email list, posting a reel, getting to my yoga class, making a meal plan, literally anything… I’m relieved I finally did it, thinking that wasn’t so bad, why did I wait so long, I could’ve saved myself so much stress.

You might be a 40 something year old mom realizing you don’t want to work a 9-5, a college student, a retired empty-nester just trying to earn a little extra money, or a small business trying to figure out this social media thing…

No matter who you are or what you’ve been putting off…

Just start.

Start today.

You’re capable.

You can figure it out.

It may take a little bit longer than expected.

Or it may be a walk in the park.

When I started down this digital marketing path I didn’t know if I would be smart enough to get through the technical stuff, or creative enough to make digital products that people would actually want, definitely don’t feel cute enough to be showing my face all over social media… 🫣

But my financial situation and desire for more time freedom and flexibility to be able to be there for my kids has pushed me to get through the uncomfortable moments and I’ve learned to love them.

Being uncomfortable and pushing through my fears has really helped me grow so much…

As a person, as a mom, as a friend, and as a business owner. I never knew what I was capable of achieving until I actually started putting in the work. So my best advice to you…

Just start.

That’s the hard part.

Once you get over that 1st step you’re golden.

Start scared.

Start messy.

Start today.
