Okay, “alkaline drum and bass” is actually a legitimately cool name. 😄
Because I immediately get the vibe without even hearing it:
Not full-on screaming acid squelch.
More like:
> acid-house DNA filtered through deep, rolling, emotionally intelligent DnB.
Still nasty.
Still movement.
But less:
> “warehouse goblin at 4 a.m.”
More:
> “the bassline is dangerous, but somehow spiritually hydrating.”
I can already hear the description:

For when acid house grew up, drank water, healed some trauma, and still wanted to slap.
Or:

Or in true DJ Jesse/Crow fashion:

And honestly? Adding 303-style movement/textures to a gangster DnB track could be sick if you keep it musical and not overdo the squelch. Like little acidic ghosts weaving through the groove instead of taking over the whole thing.
I can already picture this:
