What. A. Night!
Fire in the Village shared their space and created the most beautiful, cozy, intimate vibes for us.
Our theme was Gratitude and Giving Back and as we thought about November and it being Native American Heritage month, we wanted to acknowledge our gratitude for the many generations of people that came before us and understand more about the history of the place we call home today.
Karen Noyce is leading a project titled, "Pokegama and Gaaginwaajiwanaag: Retrieving a Neglected History of Place". She shared maps she's been building to help understand the history of both our landscape and the impact to those that lived here long ago. Bringing us all the way back into the 1700s, we learned a lot about the history of the area.
Annie Humphrey took us on a journey through story and song. She took our vision of collaboration and expanded in on it in a beautiful way highlighting the "economy" of helping one another. She shared her lived experience and the reminders of the power we all hold within us and how we can harness that power in our minds every day.
We left inspired and grateful last night, and as if the universe was listening, we were greeted with a stunning display of northern lights when we departed.
If you're curious about UNBOUND, join us next month as we look forward towards 2026 and reflect on 2025. This is a space where you'll be able to find support, encouragement and care and all womxn are invited to our free monthly event!
