I'm sure many of you have heard about the passing of investigator Dan Rivera while touring with Annabelle the doll. Please keep in perspective that this is a human life that was lost and that rumours are disrespectful to his loved ones who are dealing with immense grief.
Thank you for all your hard work in the field, Dan, and may you be at peace now. RIP Dan Rivera.
I’ve seen so many posts and comments on social media lately about Dan Rivera and the Annabelle doll that I felt like I needed to step in and say something.
The rumor mill is out of control, and it’s disrespectful to the man, his family, and the actual facts.
Paranormal investigator Dan Rivera, 54, died July 13, 2025, in his Gettysburg hotel room. Authorities made it clear: there was nothing suspicious. No signs of foul play. No strange activity. No demonic energy. Just a tragic, likely health-related incident. Autopsy results are still pending, but police have ruled out anything unnatural.
Dan was traveling with the real “Annabelle” Raggedy Ann doll from the Warrens’ museum as part of the “Devils on the Run” tour. He wasn’t killed by the doll.
He fell ill, went back to his room, and passed away quietly. Police and first responders attempted CPR. No evidence of paranormal involvement. Period.
Dan had over ten years with the New England Society for Psychic Research. He worked to educate, not scare. The Annabelle story comes from the Warrens’ accounts, not crime scene files. Dan’s role was to share that story, not fuel it with nonsense.
Yes, the movies are fun. But in real life? Annabelle is just a doll. Dan was a real man with a real family who deserves better than cheap Facebook ghost gossip.
