Van Zandt County, TX β€” A new voice for young conservatives is emerging in East Texas with the official launch of the North East Texas Young Republicans (NETYR). The organization aims to connect, educate, and mobilize young adults across the region who share a commitment to Republican principles and active civic engagement.

The North East Texas Young Republicans will serve as a platform for individuals ages 18 to 40 to network, discuss key policy issues, and participate in local, state, and national campaigns. In addition to political engagement, the group plans to host community service projects, leadership workshops, and voter registration drives throughout the year.

β€œOur mission is to give young conservatives in East Texas a place to come together, share ideas, and make a real difference in their communities,” said Gavin Whitaker, President of NET YR. β€œWe believe the future of the Republican Party depends on active participation from the next generation.”

As a federated chapter of both the Texas Young Republican Federation and the Young Republican National Federation, NET YR will work to strengthen the conservative movement at every level of government while encouraging respectful dialogue and grassroots activism.

The organization welcomes young professionals, college students, and community members from across Northeast Texas who are ready to make an impact.

We are an Online Only Publication

As of January 2020, we became online only. Unfortunately, small town papers are shutting down due to high printing costs, and not enough advertisers. Instead of the Grand Saline Sun closing down the paper for good, as many of East Texas papers have done here recently, we have decided to take our paper to digital only. Although it leaves a lot of elderly out, not all, but many...we still think it is a better choice than closing the paper down indefinitely. A huge benefit to going online only, is our prices do not have to be so high, and we can use as many pictures or pages as we want. We are grateful that we were able to save the paper in this fashion. We want to continue to be able to cover our hometown community, as well as the nearby communities. Email [email protected] for your advertising needs.
