Certain populations are more susceptible to extreme heat. We encourage you to do the following:

✔️ For people who are 65 or older, heat can be especially dangerous. Make a plan with a friend, relative or neighbor to call or check on older adults twice a day during hot weather.

✔️ Bring pets inside. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water.

✔️ Make sure everyone is out of the car when you park. Never leave a child, older adult or animal inside a parked vehicle. Temperatures inside a car can rise almost 20 degrees within the first 10 minutes causing heat stroke or death.

The Grand Terrace Lions Club wearing purple and gold vests has demonstrated its commitment to community service by securing a hunger grant from the California Lions Foundation. This generous grant facilitated the donation of vital equipment to Inland Harvest and its volunteers (pictured above), a local nonprofit dedicated to addressing food insecurity.
