Scott Pullins Files for State Representative in Ohio House District 98

Mount Vernon, OH – Longtime conservative Republican leader and attorney Scott Pullins of Knox County today filed his petitions to run for the Republican Nomination for State Representative in Ohio House District 98. The 98th Ohio House District includes all of Coshocton and Holmes Counties, and most of Knox County. He ran against incumbent Darrell Kick in the August 2022 primary and lost by just 684 votes.

“State Representative is not an entry level job or for untested political newcomers,” said Pullins. “We’ve already seen too much turmoil in the Ohio House from infighting and immature members. It’s time to start electing highly experienced and tested representatives again.”

“Over the past sixteen months I have crisscrossed this district, building support, raising money, and I’m ready to go win,” continued Pullins.

Scott Pullins is an Ohio attorney, charter school board member, political consultant, and writer. He provides services to small businesses, individuals, financial entities, and political organizations. He is well known at the statehouse and has lobbied for taxpayer groups, small businesses, an alternative medical association, an education nonprofit and on wildlife issues. His experience and connections will be crucial in helping to pass key legislation.

Pullins is a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association. He attended Ohio University and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 1997. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in 2003.

Way too many people running for the Ohio House, including my likely opponent, think they are running for Congress.

It's not Congress folks.

The Ohio General Assembly must pass a balanced budget. No deficits. No printing money. No continuing resolutions.

As the late, great Representative Bob Netzley used to say, state government primarily spends taxpayer dollars on three things. They educate, they incarcerate, and they medicate.

They also pass laws. And sadly, many of the "reforms" that have passed over the years, i.e. term limits, campaign finance reform, redistricting reform, etc. have been utter and complete disasters.

So one of my priorities, if given the opportunity, will be to fix and repeal these "reforms". If you would like to help, then please visit my website, join my email list, and maybe even send me a small donation. Thank you.

As someone who lost very narrowly to a well funded incumbent on August 2, I'm asked frequently if I will run again for the Ohio General Assembly. My answer is usually that it depends upon what happens to our legislative districts.

But more importantly, this gives me an opening to talk about our Republican judges. The simple fact is that it will not matter who we elect in the future to the Ohio General Assembly if we do not elect our GOP judges THIS November.

Over the past year we have all experienced what can happen if a liberal majority once again takes control of our Ohio Supreme Court. Even now, our retiring RINO Chief Justice is talking about leading an effort to again amend our state constitution and change our redistricting process.

Our rural counties are crucial to winning these important GOP judge's offices. That's why that I will be spending as much of my spare time from between now and November to elect and re-elect our GOP judges.

I've attached below a picture of my literature piece that I will be mailing and circulating to likely GOP voters. My campaign fund, my law firm, and I will be personally funding this effort. However, donations are always welcome and can be made online below.

If you want some of this literature to circulate yourself, then please feel free to contact me. Thank you.
