Let me say first that this was my first complete tile job. I have shimmed out walls and done demolition and a lot of other things, but I was called in for a single tile that we discovered was put on regular drywall with drywall screws and mastic or liquid nails.

There was mold and nothing was square.

I ended up doing from the niche to the entire rebuild, including having to ship every plane.

Tell me what you think and how much it should’ve cost and how many hours.

Again first time doing this and she knew this and was ok w flaws

The ceiling and the tub were from the previous people

I posted recently about my kids clothing going into the wash and coming out with new stains. You guys suggested that they could be polyquat stains. I thought that sounded like it could be it, but I am quite sure its not that now and totally at my wits end. My kids hardly ever use bubbles, I threw out our hand soap that had polyquaternium in it. Theres nothing else that has it and even if there was, theres no way my daughter got this much of it on her pants..

The 2 shirts I posted before with these stains have since gone through 2 seperate dawn dish soap and baking soda soaks for several hours each, then were thrown into the wash with sunlight detergent set on a normal warm wash (i used to do cold wash but was told I should try warm so Ive been trying that out). These pants were thrown in with the others on the second soak. The 2 shirts that had the previous stains came out of the wash looking better. The stains were still there, but lighter. But these pants that have been just fine for the past year suddenly are absolutely COVERED in those stains?! Wtf?? Along with a couple other newer clothing items with the similar stains but much smaller. While another pure white shirt that went through the same soak and wash came out almost totally fine except for a few tiny dots near the neckline. I cannot for the life of me come up with any rhyme or reason as to why this is happening. It almost exclusively happens to my kids clothes. And it seems to be getting worse, not better after all the things ive tried including buying new machines. I literally cried the other day because I was already so overwhelmed with other things and then I take my kids clothes out of the wash to see most of them have new stains yet again (this was a totally different load that I didn't presoak in anything). I dont even want to buy clothes for them anymore because they are getting destroyed and my money is being wasted. Someone please help me figure this out 😭😭

On the far edge of my parents yard, between the barbwire fence and a large shop building, we found this hole. I thought it looked like laundry exhaust bc of the gray fuzzy material, but the house/laundry is approx. 150yds away. The shop building has no HVAC or underground exhaust of any kind. It stuck with me and Ive been trying to Gopher or groundhog fur? Idk. There are also a lot of snakes in the area but their holes are smaller. Maybe an animal was buried there? As the animal decomposed gas would build up and the pressure would eventually escape making the hole? What do you think?

*After writing this I went out to take more pics. That's when I noticed the rusty chain near the hole. Suspicious.

*Also, a banana for scale.

We’re first time homeowners who bought a very well preserved 1960s ranch from the original owners. We recently had to replace the original toilets due to a plumbing issue. Looking for input on how to give the two bathrooms a small facelift. We’ve leaned into midcentury modern in other places in the house, would like to keep the same vibe here.

We are KEEPING the wall & floor tiles and showers as-is in both bathrooms. We need to replace the vanities, mirrors, window treatments, and add light fixtures.

Thank you!

Before vs After 🔥

Removed the burners to deal with baked-on grime from what feels like a thousand years of use—even before I moved in and eventually bought the home.

It’s not perfect and it never will be, but the difference is huge. I used Bar Keepers Friend, The Pink Stuff, Dawn PowerWash, SOS pads, chain scrubbers, and a lot of elbow grease.

I went pretty aggressive in places and wore down some areas that probably shouldn’t have been touched—but it’s an 80-year-old stove. It can be imperfect and still loved.

Grease and cigarette smoke… gone 🧼💨

Used Hertel Ultra Powerful Degreaser, a toothbrush, and a lot of paper towels. Not glamorous, but it worked.
