WV Living is saddened to hear of the passing of Katherine "Kitty" Dooley, a woman we were incredibly honored to call a Wonder Woman in 2022. A former military officer, a practicing lawyer in Charleston for over 30 years, and a staunch, life-long advocate for civil rights, equity, and inclusion, Dooley has made an immeasurable impact on her home state of West Virginia and beyond—a legacy that will not fade. Our hearts are with her loved ones.

"'A lawyer is either a social engineer or a parasite on society,' in the words of Charles Hamilton Houston. I know exactly which one I was meant to be." —Katherine "Kitty" Dooley
