Today’s breed spotlight goes to:
✨Lemon Cuckoo Niederrheiners✨

These are our dual purpose offering! This is our foundation stock who has been growing and maturing beautifully 😍 I believe next year we will have chicks and grow outs available unless they shock me and start laying soon 🤔 These guys are excellent layers as well as looking stunning!

If you’re looking for a bird different from Rudd rangers and Cornish cross this is the breed for you! Slightly longer to mature with hens finishing around 5.5-6.5 pounds and Roos around 8-10. We’re excited to be able to offer this dual purpose breed as an option!

Don’t mind the one lone Swedish Flower she’s just chillen with her friends lol we got her as an *extra* in an order and she’s been with the lemons ever since!

Full disclosure: half our stock comes from Greenfire Farms and half from the incredible Hickmans Micro Hatchery!

We’re off to see Les Miserables this evening! A brief time away from the farm is a good thing sometimes 😉

Of course as soon as we left chickens were hatching but what can ya do?!

Thankful to all my peeps that support me and watch our menagerie while we’re gone!!

The mud loving crew is growing lol this is our Blue Ameracauna Roo- Aquarius and our Splash Roo- Thanos and a few ladies 😍

I swear it’s their favorite thing to do lol do you have birds that want the mud water instead of their perfectly clean water?

Busy day today! Visiting my friend Web in the woods Farm in RI and Casey Wilkinson (wouldn’t let me tag her but she has beautiful birds and ducks!) on the Cape to grab a few Kiki’s, Silkies, and bantams to fill out a few pens to make order filling faster for all of you wonderful humans!

We have finally had great fertility with these babies! Introducing our Bantam Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks!!

The eggs are small and with only two hens it can take a few days to get 1/2 dozens available, just setting expectations 😉

I will add these to the website probably late in the day tomorrow! They are SO sweet!

Don’t mind the p**p on the roosting bars that were JUST scraped off lol I swear I could do that 6700 times a day and it would still be there!

Our Kikiriki Breeders! These little ones are powerhouses of personality! What they lack in size they certainly make up for in their mannerisms. We have come to LOVE this breed and recently added some new additions to be able to expand our breeding program!

Some of these are Bolo, Naked Neck, Domino, Barred, and more!

Some things to know:
If you're in the NE they are NOT winter hardy, they come from the island of Puerto Rico! They will need to be contained in the winter, away from snow and ice. We had them in an unheated barn and the lowest temp was around 35 degrees, they still needed a heat lamp to help them maintain their warmth. Other breeders may have other experiences but that was ours 😉

Other than that they do not require special care, they can eat normal food etc, we use the same food and same bedding for all with no issues!

Good morning from Mr. Night! He is our beautiful Shetland Hen Roo that contributes to our olive egger dreams! We’re beginning to see a few of our keeper grow outs show similar colors to him and can’t wait to see if we get more speckled green eggs!

He was hatched by Painted Wings Farm they are one our favorite micro breeders with beautiful birds that are hand raised and so lovely!

Our beautiful Polish!! This is honestly my favorite pen, the same few always want to come up to me and say hi!

We have two roosters in this pen, Gaston, who is a splash, and Newman, who is a blue! We will be likely adding a third rooster or breaking out into another Polish party pen later on in the year 😉

The next few days are busy with coop refreshing and there will be more videos and some breed updates!!

The reveal has arrived!! 4 brand spanking new kikirikis to add to my breeding program!! These 3 ladies and lovely roo need some names!! Whatcha got?!
