Singer/songwriter Maci Layne Hubbard grew up at the end of a dirt road lined with tall pines and bales of hay. Everywhere are birdhouses, chickenhouses, and barns. Gardens are bent over with vegetables this time of year. Horses swish away flies. An old black dog does her job, barking until the front door opens.
