Check Out These Country Stars' Reactions to Their Government Names

You have to check out this hilarious video from a couple weeks ago at the CMAs. As country stars were walking up for their interview, they were greeted with their full government name. And it took a lot of them by surprise.

Here were some of the best reactions:

1. They said, "Luke Albert Combs" to Luke . . . and he asked, "IRS?"

2. Ella Langley walked up and they called her, "Elizabeth Camille Langley" . . . and she said, "Wow, my government. Did I do something wrong?"

3. Riley Green came walking up and they said, "Jonathan Riley Green" . . . and he looked a little shocked. He said, "Where'd you get that from? You find my birth certificate lying around somewhere?"

4. And the best one was Lauren Alaina. They called her, "Lauren Alaina Kristine Arnold" . . . and she just couldn't stop laughing. Eventually she said, "Did you google that?"

Someone in the comments said, "I want Lauren Alaina's laugh to be my ringtone."

Dolly Parton Says "Hard Candy Christmas" Is Not a Christmas Song

Every December it's great to listen to some Christmas country classics . . . and Dolly Parton's song "Hard Candy Christmas" is definitely one of them.
But apparently, Dolly never thought of it as a Christmas song at all. She once said, "It's kind of funny that people think it's a Christmas song . . . it's really not. It's just about people having hard times and saying, 'It's like a hard candy Christmas.'"
Dolly first recorded it in 1982 for "The Best Little Wh******se in Texas" . . . and even though Carol Hall wrote it, Dolly connected with the story.
Growing up in East Tennessee, her family didn't have electricity, so Christmas meant simple decorations and a box of hard candy.
And even now, Dolly says those humble traditions are some of her sweetest memories.

The Sand in My Boots Festival Is Cancelled for Next Year

The mayor of Gulf Shores, Alabama just announced there will be no Hangout Music Fest and no Sand in My Boots festival in 2026.
Here's what he said, "We delayed too long, or they did, in their application to be able to get the kind of acts that we required them to have to be successful in 2026."
If you remember, Hangout Music Fest rebranded in 2025 as Sand in My Boots, with Morgan Wallen leading the way.
It sold out instantly and drew a crowd that business owners called "better behaved." And the city wants that same style again in 2027. The mayor said organizers now have time to chase the talent needed to bring back the audience the city "preferred."
Big loss for country music fans. We hope it comes back in '27!

Maddie & Tae Are Calling It Quits

After 15 years of making music together, Maddie & Tae are calling it quits. The duo said the decision was, quote, "heartbreaking."
But Maddie added that they're leaving things open ended. She said maybe they'll record another album one day . . . maybe do some shows . . . but "in this season" it didn't feel right to keep going.
But apparently, their friendship is still solid. In fact, they said stepping back from their career will actually help them become better friends.
The turning point came during a sad phone call in September. Tae told Maddie her heart was at home, and Maddie said, "Okay. Then that's what we need to do."
Tae says she is stepping back to raise her kids, and Maddie is heading into a solo chapter.

The Top "Soft Skills" That Can Land You a Job in 2026

If you're looking for a new gig in 2026, you might want to work on those communication skills.
A poll of 1,000 hiring managers found "soft skills" can be even more important than "hard" ones now. "Hard skills" are things tied directly to your job. "Soft skills" are more general, like critical thinking and collaboration.
62% said hard and soft skills are equally important . . . and 24% think soft skills are MORE important now.
According to the poll, here are the Top 5 soft skills that can help land you a job:

1. Good communication skills. That includes things like concise emails, active listening, and overall clarity of what you're saying.

2. Professionalism. One expert was surprised it ranked so high and thinks it's because YOUNG people suck at it. Quote, "This signals that younger generations are entering the workforce with a more laid-back attitude."

3. Time management. Can you get stuff done and hit your deadlines?

4. Accountability. Do you take ownership of your work, and your mistakes?

5. Resilience. When you hit roadblocks, can you pivot and keep going?

National Christmas Card Day: How to Write the "Perfect Holiday Card"

Today is National Christmas Card Day, which is a helpful last-minute reminder that if you're planning on getting holiday cards out in time this year, you REALLY have to get a move on. If you're new to this . . . or if it's been a while . . . Time.com has an article out on "How to Write the Perfect Holiday Card." Here are the highlights:
1. Decide what kind of card you want to send. What do you hope it will accomplish: Do you want to deliver general holiday cheer? Express gratitude? Reconnect with old friends? Fill in extended family on what's been happening?
Ideally, you get the gears rolling on this BEFORE December 9th.
2. Personalize it. Even if you're sending cards in bulk, try to personalize each one in some small way. You can keep it brief . . . maybe tack on a quick line, like: "We hope your new job is going well!"
3. Have some fun. You've seen (or given) cards that are generic. So make it more fun by doing something unique, or adding personality. It'll also be more memorable.
4. Add a surprise. This is an extra touch you could add if you have a more selective list, and aren't sending HUNDREDS out.
5. Include the date. A lot of people save cards, so make sure you include the date . . . especially if you're including photos, a letter, or a family update.
6. Decorate the envelope. This is just a little creative flair.
7. Insert it the correct way. The fold should always point downwards, and as you look at the back of the envelope, the front of the card should be facing you.
8. Double-check names. The ultimate holiday card faux pas is getting the recipients' names wrong.
9. Finally . . . Don't worry if you don't get it out on time. It's the thought that counts, so don't worry if it ends up being a New Year's card. Don't let it stress you out.

Wealthy People Are More Likely to Steal from Self-Checkouts?

Have you ever intentionally LIED about the number of limes in your bag at self-checkout? Well, some people DO try to cheat the system to save 40 cents . . . RICH people.

A new report looked into stealing at self-checkout machines, and 27% of people admit to taking an item without scanning it . . . on purpose. And surprisingly, the ones most likely to do it are NOT poor.

40% of people with a household income of $100,000 or more admit that they've stolen something at least one. That drops to 27% for households making $50K to $99K. And just 17% of people making less than $50,000 say they have.

This was self-reported . . . so maybe rich people are just more honest about their dishonesty. And they didn't distinguish between people who admit to having done it once or twice, and people who do it HABITUALLY.

So WHY are people risking a shoplifting rap over a few bucks?
The THIEVES were given 10 options, and the most common "rationale" was they're having trouble affording things they need these days, due to the "current financial climate." "Price increases due to tariffs" was the next-most common answer, followed by "prices feel unfair" . . . "

There's a Push to Rename American Football . . . So What Should It Be?

The most popular sport in the world is football . . . but NOT American football (even with Swifties worldwide watching Travis Kelce). It's what most Americans call "soccer."

This past Friday, President Trump announced that, to him, soccer is the REAL football . . . and that American "football" needs to change to something else.

He said, quote, "We have a little bit of a conflict with another thing that's called football. But when you think about it, this, [soccer], is football, there's no question about it. We have to come up with another name for the NFL stuff. It really doesn't make sense when you think about it."

Trump stopped short of saying he'd force the NFL to change the name, but naturally that got people talking about new names for the sport.

Here are some of the suggestions online:

1. Gridiron. This seems to be the most popular response, with some people basically saying gridiron already IS the technical name. That would make the NFL the "NGL," which actually sounds cool, NGL. (Not Gonna Lie. Wait . . .)

2. Pigskin. This is also another nickname people already use.

3. Tackle Football, or "American Football." I think it's already been proven that names like this don't stick. People just shorten it to "football," and there will still be confusion.

4. DraftKings Ball. This was probably a joke because of all the gambling ads during sporting events. But it's definitely possible that a sponsor could BUY the right to name the sport . . . like college bowl games. Maybe "Butterball"???

5. Trump Ball. This is tongue-in-cheek . . . but if Trump got serious about pushing for a new name, this would probably be his preference.

Then there were some sillier suggestions, like:
1. Kickball. Dude, that name is already taken, too.
2. Soccer. So, they'd just switch the names? That's a lot more confusing.
3. Millionaire Fight Club.
4. Full-Contact Chess.
5. Footsie.

It's worth pointing out, Trump made these comments at a FIFA event, where he was being awarded their "Peace Prize." So maybe he was just buttering them up with the "soccer is the real football" talk. (NFL: Give this man an award, stat!)

While at the FIFA World Cup draw, Donald Trump questioned why his country calls the sport soccer instead of football.Subscribe to CTV News to watch more vide...

🐾 Meet Claus! 🐾
Claus is a 1–2 year old large mixed-breed with loads of energy, a sharp mind, and a big heart just waiting for the right person. He can be cautious with new people at first (“stranger danger” is real!), but with patience, positive introductions, and a few treats, he warms up quickly.

This smart, playful boy is looking for a committed home ready to invest in training, consistency, and building trust. In return, you’ll get a loyal adventure buddy who loves to learn and thrive with structure.

If you’re experienced, active, and excited about helping a young dog reach his full potential, Claus might be your guy. 💙
