95% of Americans have heard of the First Amendment, and 90% believe it's important. But only 10% could name all five freedoms it protects . . . speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. And 25% couldn't name a single one.

Today is National Face Your Fears Day. And one way to celebrate, is to take a road trip through the country to the creepiest places.

The Science of Scare Project came out with their 2025 list of the Scariest Movies According to Science. The "test subjects" had to wear heart monitors to track their heartbeat throughout each movie screening.

The big science stories this week are:

In Halloween-related news: A study proved that large bats sometimes attack and eat birds in mid-flight. Researchers in Europe recorded one doing it.

In energy news: Renewable sources like wind and solar now generate more electricity than coal for the first time ever. That's globally.

And in rodent news: Naked mole-rats had a big week. They look like rats . . . but hairless and uglier . . . and live up to 40 years. That's 10 times longer than most rodents, and they rarely get cancer. A study figured out the specific genes that repair their DNA. Experts say it could lead to new anti-aging treatments to help humans live longer.

In space news: We got the first ever shot of two black holes circling each other . . . and Starlink satellites are now falling out of the sky at a pace of around two per day. They only last five years before they have to be decommissioned.

"Time" magazine has put out a rundown of the best inventions of the year. So far, at least. Some are REALLY impressive . . . and some are more like this "rechargeable cat robot," which sits on the rim of steaming bowls and mugs, and quickly cools them off.

New Movies this weekend

1. "Tron: Ares" (PG-13)
Jared Leto is Ares, a sophisticated program sent here from the digital world on a dangerous mission, even as his world prepares to invade and destroy ours.

Jeff Bridges returns as Tron creator Kevin Flynn, Greta Lee plays the current CEO of Flynn's company, and Evan Peters is a rival CEO who thinks he can use Ares as a weapon.

Nine Inch Nails did the movie's soundtrack,

2. "Roofman" (R)
Channing Tatum is a former Army Ranger who turns to a life of crime and earns his nickname by breaking into places by cutting holes in their roof. After he escapes prison, he breaks into a Toys R Us and falls for one of the employees, Kirsten Dunst, while hiding there undetected for six months. LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, and Peter Dinklage are also in it.

3. And now, some limited releases you may or may not care about:
--"After the Hunt", a psychological thriller starring Julia Roberts as a respected professor grappling with her past after a friend (Andrew Garfield) is accused of assaulting one of her students (Ayo Edebiri).

--"Kiss of the Spider Woman" starring Diego Luna as a political prisoner sharing a cell with a gay man telling him the plot of his favorite Hollywood movie, featuring Jennier Lopez as the Spider Woman.

--"If I Had Legs I'd Kick You" starring Rose Byrne as a woman overwhelmed by her daughter's illness and neglected by her husband. Conan O'Brien is her therapist and Christian Slater is her husband. A$AP Rocky is also in it.

Google released a list of the top-trending Halloween costumes, and it's DOMINATED by characters from the movie "Kpop Demon Hunters".

They've got the entire Top 5, in this order: Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja.

Another character from the movie, Derpy the Tiger, came in at #8. Chicken Jockey from "Minecraft" came in 6th, followed by Labubu at #7. Rounding out the Top 10 are Elphaba from "Wicked" and the Lorax.

Rumi is also the #1 trending costume for kids, while Labubu is #1 for DOGS.

The #1 DUO costume is Astrid and Hiccup from "How to Train Your Dragon".

The #1 trend in Halloween makeup is KISS, and the top-trending decoration is Floating Candles.

A list of the greatest horror villain from every decade of the last century includes Dracula, the Wolf Man, Norman Bates, Freddy Krueger, Annabelle, and Art the Clown.

In a new survey, 26% of people in a relationship say they are "polar opposites." And overall, 73% of people believe that "opposites attract." But generally, people should have 54% in common for it to work out.

Samsung has released a new monster fridge with 32 cubic feet of space. By comparison the average fridge has around 25 cubic feet and just around 100 years ago the average was only 7 cubic feet.

Nearly 1 in 5 high schoolers say they, or someone they know, has had "a romantic relationship" with artificial intelligence. And 42% of students say they, or someone they know, have used A.I. for companionship.
