LANDSPOUT: Thank you to one of our viewers, Jessica Richardson, who uploaded this awesome photo of a landspout near Clarinda, Iowa yesterday afternoon. This was the same storm that caused the tornado warning near Clarinda.

Because this was a landspout, the radar had a very hard time picking up rotation which is why the warning was issued after the landspout lifted.

National Weather Service reported a tornado touched down briefly yesterday afternoon near the town of Clarinda. As of Saturday morning, it hasn't been confirmed yet as it's only been reported. More details in the story below!

NWS reported a possible tornado mid afternoon on Friday.

UPDATE: NWS has trimmed down the Tornado Watch, but expanded the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for tonight.

The Tornado Watch continues for areas in red until 10 PM tonight. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for numerous counties including the metro until 2 AM Friday morning.

Damaging winds is the biggest risk with these storms. Winds could reach up to 80 mph. Hail could reach up to 2".

TORNADO WATCH: A Tornado Watch has been issued for the metro including Douglas & Sarpy County as well as areas north of I-80 until 10 PM tonight.

Ingredients are favorable for a few tornadoes to develop this evening in the counties shaded in red. Have a safety plan in place in case warnings are issued!

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY: Another round of potentially severe thunderstorms are possible this evening mainly after 7 PM.

Storms will form over central-north Nebraska and move east-southeast tonight. Some storms may produce damaging winds reaching up to 80-90 mph, large hail up to 2", and a few tornadoes.

Once the atmosphere cools down late tonight, the storms will weaken below severe level. This looks to happen around midnight. Stay safe!
