I’m Emmalee Lehmann, the current Social Media Manager for The Fourth Estate. I’m a senior here at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, graduating this December as a Communication major (triple emphasis in Social Media, Public Relations, and Health Communication) and a minor in Marketing.
I’m passionate about all things media- but when I’m not online you can find me enjoying country music, drinking coffee, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers!

Hi, my name is Jacob Slinkman, I am a senior Communication student with emphases in Sports, Social Media, and Journalism. I am the Editor in Chief of The Fourth Estate for this school year.
I have been writing for The Fourth Estate for two years now, covering a range of topics from sports to student wellness. My interests include sports, travel, film, music, and of course, writing.
As Editor in Chief, I am excited to help lead The Fourth Estate into a year of growth, by adding more students to our team as well as growing our readership on and off campus.

Former Green Bay athletes are returning to their alma mater and are taking on coaching roles for the teams they were part of. This phenomenon, which is blending past experiences of athletes with current leadership, highlights the deep connection between UWGB and its student-athletes.

Christmas is an interesting time of the year when the worst and best can be brought out in a person. People are hustling and bustling to take part in all the holiday activities: ranking up the credit card bills, finding that perfect present, or booking the whole day out with holiday activities. It can be a chaotic time, but it can also be rewarding to spend time with family, friends, or those we enjoy. Despite the chaos, people can take encouragement not only in seasonal elements like cookies, holiday parties, and snow but also in holiday traditions.

The UWGB men’s basketball team has seen its fair share of talented players come through its program over the years, but a name that will never be forgotten in the school’s history books is Keifer Sykes.

To recognize his lasting influence on the program, Sykes was inducted into the Phoenix Hall of Fame during the summer of 2023.

“Be a leader but also be a great follower. Follow good examples, great examples. Don’t be afraid to be different. Don’t always try to be the cool person. That doesn’t last very long. Don’t be afraid to just be yourself. For me, it was a lot of hard work. Maximize your hours, be as productive as you can, and read books on things that can help you at different times in your life.”

The Intertribal Student Council has been an organization on campus since the very early ’90s, caring for Indigenous students and their success from then until now. This year, the council is entering a new and exciting phase with a new team of young leaders after a big part of their council recently graduated, leaving behind many roles to be filled. This group of facilitators, communications officers, and executive members are working hard to bring new and fresh perspectives to the council.

Currently, Immel coaches men’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and men’s and women’s golf.
