Murals have popped up in De Pere over the last few years as a way to enhance public art throughout the city.

“Our goal is to really add those cultural amenities throughout the downtown and in different parts of the city, that create a unique experience that recognizes, ‘Yup, I’m in De Pere,’” City Administrator Larry Delo said.

It's that time of year again – Pulaski Polka Days is on the horizon.

“We get people from all over the United States,” Harold Otto said. “It’s a family event. People bring the children; the younger ones are dancing with their grandpa, or grandma, or brothers and sisters and friends. It’s an event that draws everybody. Everyone is happy-go-lucky.”

Festival Food's Fire over the Fox is back in full swing this year, after a cancellation in 2020 and a scaled back version in 2021.

“This is our first year in a couple of years hosting it back to its full glory,” Brooke Hafs, marketing director of On Broadway, Inc., said. “So bringing it back to full steam, I think, is just another way to kind of return people to normalcy. It’s an outdoor event, so even if people have their hesitations with COVID, they can still socially distance themselves and wear masks if they want to. But all in all, people are really grateful to be getting back to normal, and see a community event they love so much return to normal.”

At The Automobile Gallery & Event Center, "The automobile is the art."

“There isn’t anything like this in the area,” she said. “It is a place where people truly come to congregate and share personal stories. I don’t think downtown would be the same without a landing spot like this.”

The gallery is ready for its fifth annual Cars & Guitars show on Saturday, June 18.
