Fr. Nicholas “Nico” Stellpflug, who grew up as a member of St. Paul Parish, Combined Locks, was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay last Saturday, June 28, 2025.

“Being gathered around the altar and being able to present the Word and the Bread of Life is a great gift," he said.

On June 17, 2025, St. Francis of Assisi Parish held a ground-breaking ceremony for a new building at one of the three worship sites that service the residents of Manitowoc.

In 2005, St. Francis of Assisi parish was established as the sole parish for the city.

20 years later, it is celebrating its anniversary over 20 days with more than 20 events, which began June 15 and continues through July 4.

Jesus Christ, truly present in the Eucharist, WALKS WITH US.

Bishop Ricken lead the faithful in a Corpus Christi procession at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

"Living and life-giving, the Corpus Domini makes us, the Church herself, the Body of the Lord," Pope Leo XIV said in his homily on Sunday.

Deacon Nicholas Stellpflug loves "sharing the Good News that Jesus speaks to us." After spending the past year continuing his studies at the Pontifical North American College and serving as a deacon at the Spanish National Church in Rome, Deacon Stellpflug is coming home to the Diocese of Green Bay.

We are sad to announce the passing of Deacon Michael Dabeck, 68, after a brief battle with glioblastoma. Deacon Dabeck served as a deacon at St. Matthew Parish, Allouez, and Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Green Bay, and died on June 7, 2025.

A visitation was held Friday, June 13, 2025, at Cotter Funeral Home with a prayer service led by Deacon David Scheuer. The funeral Mass was officiated by Fr. Matt Simonar and concelebrated by Fr. Bob Kabat at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Green Bay.

We are sad to announce the passing of Sr. Jessica Zwarra, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity who served many years as the dentist for the sisters at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.

Sr. Jessica died on May 25, 2025, at her family home in Longwood, FL, and her funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, June 5, by Fr. Placid Stroik, OFM, in the Holy Family Convent Chapel in Manitowoc.
