How do I tell my younger sister she shouldn't cook the main dish because she's a bad cook.
My family alternates on who hosts thanksgiving dinner. This year is my sister's first year hosting. Usually the host does the main dish: Turkey and the rest of the family makes the side dishes. My sister is not aware when it comes to basic food safety, and is a lot more experimental with her recipes.
My family and I do not trust her to make it edible. But she is determine to cook it with no help.
She sent me TikToks on recipes she would want to follow and she is thinking of seasoning the turkey with "just salt" and stuffing it with seafood. She also wants to make mashed potatoes but add edible glitter to make it cute. The years prior we always made her pick up dinner rolls or drinks.
I offered to come in earlier to help with the turkey in the hopes of saving dinner. But she refuses help.
Should I prepare a backup turkey, or just wait and see if she surprises me?
