My photographer is now charging me double for my wedding due to a miscommunication.
I am getting married next month after years of planning. I found a photographer through a coworker. Knowing I was on a tight budget, my coworker told me the photographer could do my wedding for $500.
My coworker has been my main point of contact throughout the planning process. However, last week I finally spoke directly with the photographer and provided a list of the photos I wanted taken on my wedding day.
The photographer seemed confused and explained that they had been told they would only be covering the ceremony and family photos at the church. The package I expected, including all the photos I requested, would actually cost $1,000.
I was shocked and frustrated. I confronted my coworker because I felt she had miscommunicated my expectations to the photographer. Now, what was supposed to be a joyful time has turned into a stressful situation just weeks before my wedding, and I'm scrambling to figure out a solution.
Should I stick with the photographer and pay double, try to negotiate a compromise, or find someone else? What would you do in my situation?
