Before modern school districts existed, 55 one-room schoolhouses were scattered across Kewaunee County.

Next Saturday, June 27, Agricultural Heritage and Resources (Heritage Farm) is bringing that history back to life with an "all-school reunion" for the alumni and teachers who lived it. The public event features a potluck, an ice cream social, and tours of the newly restored 1920s Wayside School.

Roen Salvage Company workers were placing large boulders along Algoma's south breakwall when this picture was taken Sunday night. Later, work began to break the lighthouse free from the concrete on the north pier in preparation for an impending move to Roen's property in Sturgeon Bay for painting while the pier is reconstructed.
