[Docent of Doom] M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) should be illegal right off the bat. Never should have ever been allowed and should be made illegal.

- 100% of the times prices go up after the competition is subsumed.

-100% of the time, quality goes down - many times to life threatening levels because it becomes profit driven for the CEO and his/her cronies.

- 100% of the time the acquired companies products are purposefully destroyed to get vengeance on the upstarts that actually made better products

- 100% of the time everything is consolidated to drive profits and when disaster strikes, it's basically over for a lot of people. As in they are left to die, such as, but not limited to:

Providers are starting to put off elective surgeries and other procedures.

[Docent of DOOM] Wow, Embassy Suites by Hilton, how low will you go? I have traveled all over North America, Central America, Europe, etc. and NOT ONCE EVER, ANYWHERE, ANY BRAND of ANY HOTEL, was I EVER charged for "checking in early". Price gouge much?

This is exceedingly creepy. Let's say you are feeling fine and not in any dire medical condition of any kind, nor do you suspect you are in any jeopardy - basically, generically, you are totally feeling fine.

Why would anyone ever want to do this?

[Docent of Doom] The climate is deteriorating in front of your EYES and everyone who is alive NOW will see the yearly weather get WORSE every year until you die of old age.

Below, this was not a hurricane. It was "just a storm". Just like in Europe, we are going to see these disasters here. Get away from the coast! Just do it! Get away from rivers! Lakes! Don't be on any flood plain of any designation (1, 5 ,10, 100, million years). None!!!

Get 30 feet above on a gentle sloping hill. (No cliffs!, OMG, how stupid can you be.) Lastly, make sure "test for deluge" as in, if you can't see further than a few feet in the rain, make sure all water is 100% draining away from you and not pooling!

What part of "we left the linear portion of the curve (past the inflection point) and we are exponential" do scientist not get?

We are past Act III of this Shakespearean tragedy. We are in Act IV and nothing we do in Act IV will stop the deadly march into Act V. All we can hope for is that it's not a 'Hamlet' ending.

The leap in temperatures over the past 13 months has exceeded the global heating forecasts – is this just a blip or a systemic shift?

[Docent of Doom 09-AUG-2024] Climate change is wreaking havoc. Notice something weird? Debby has been inland for a while and still a source of super massive damage.

Floods and tornadoes are expected in the Northeast today, Saturday, and Sunday. Turn on that annoying warning beep on your phones! It may save your life.

Floods will continue as cresting rivers flood as they drain out to sea, way after Debby disintegrates - so beware, the sky could be clear but you get flooded out by swelling rivers within minutes. Places have reported "nothing" to "3 feet" of rushing water within 30 minutes!

And if that wasn't enough, a new one is already forming in the Atlantic, and this will arrive sometime next week...

[Docent of Doom] Well, if you recall my post from two days ago, I was excited to find a polar projection of the deep ocean circulation model including the AMOC and how it was about to collapse way sooner than people think. I said the original 2100 date was a joke, the 2057 date was more realistic but I thought it would be more like 2040 and maybe even sooner, like 2030.

I was wrong. How about maybe this December of this year? Antarctica was, yet again, overall 10°C warmer with several days that were 28°C warmer! And it's WINTER in the southern hemisphere! Wait till we go into winter here (no snow is expected anywhere except in high elevations; while other locations will only get snow if-and-only-if the polar vortex dips down from the Arctic.

Few more revolutions around the sun and who known how many will be left standing. Literally. I also said enjoy this weather because next year it will be worse. And it was and continue to be. Let me change that to "every month is getting worse" (compared to prior year, by month) here on out.

This autumn in Canada/US will be replaced by second-summer and winter will be autumnal-winter. Spring will be no-spring-just-summer, and summer-summer will just be called death. "It's the end of the world as we know it" is happening right in front of your eyes.
