This fall we’re pleased to partner with Greenbelt Access Television Channel on the upcoming Smart Phone Filmmaking Workshop taught by Shaquel Davis! Shaquel is a professional filmmaker with over seven years of experience bringing stories to life on screen. He has collaborated with major clients including Lion’s Gate, Comcast, Facebook, First Baptist Church of Glenarden, and BET, working across Washington, D.C., Maryland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Miami. Specializing in art direction, Shaquel has a proven track record in set decoration and graphic design, while also running his own business, SD Design LLC, where he provides award-winning videography and editing services. His passion for visual storytelling and hands-on industry experience make him uniquely equipped to guide others in the art of smartphone filmmaking. Greenbelt's 70th Annual Greenbelt Labor Day Festival kicked off on Friday, August 29th at 6:30pm, with a wonderful opening ceremony and proclamation, as well as the announcement of Greenbelt’s Outstanding Citizen of 2025!

Many congratulations to Robert Goldberg-Strassler, an absolute treasure and the (humble) mastermind behind amazing initiatives such as the HUG Walk, trash cleanup, and food security in Greenbelt. Tune in to see the ceremony and Robert’s acceptance speech.
