I’m so heartbroken for the many thousands of people in Los Angeles who have suffered the loss of their homes, schools, businesses and entire communities. I was raised in LA, spent 2 decades of my adult life there and our family spent most of our family reunions and holidays visiting my Dad, where he lived in the Palisades the last 30 years of his life. It is truly unimaginable what people are going through and the amount of massive help and nearly "Marshall Plan" level of assistance they are going to need for decades. My heart and prayers and support go out to all those impacted and my deepest gratitude and support for all the firefighters, relief and care workers as well as kind and generous Angelenos who have so valiantly stepped in to help.

If you can and would like to join me, here are several wonderful organizations I’m making some initial donations to. Thank you and please keep your prayers and support coming in, however you are able. -- Bonnie

It’s been a great year as we wrap up Y&T’s successful 50th anniversary. We feel very fortunate for all the love and support we’ve received from you. And to those who shared our anniversary with us around the world, a sincere thanks from all of us. We look to 2025 and beyond to keep bringing musical joy to all for years to come.

Cheers,

Patti Smith is celebrating her 78th birthday today. Patti is a singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album "Horses."

She has been called the "punk poet laureate", as she fused rock and poetry in her work. Her best known song is "Because the Night", which was co-written with Bruce Springsteen. The song reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978.

In 2007, Patti was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Happy Birthday Patti!!

The Allman Brothers Band and President Jimmy Carter had a friendship that lasted for five decades, and it extended well beyond politics. The members of the band first met then Governor Carter in 1974, and quickly recognized that he was a good and decent man, as well as a true music lover. The group was so struck by his genuineness and appreciation for their musical style that the ABB did a series of benefit concerts that kept candidate Carter financially viable during his 1976 presidential bid. The band backed him, and he stood by them, in good times and bad, showing a loyalty that is rarely found in a politician. Often seen wearing an ABB T-shirt on the campaign trail, Carter once stated, “I’m proud of my relationship with the Allman Brothers Band. They are good people, they are my friends, and anybody who wants a president who doesn’t like music like this should just simply vote for another man.” After his presidency, he stayed close to the guys in the band, and he said many times over the years, “The Allman Brothers helped put me in the White House by raising money when I didn’t have any.” The Allman Brothers Band family was saddened by the loss of their dear friend and a great human being – God rest your soul, President Carter.
