A life without Christ seems normal in the world today. Authentic faith seems obsolete. Unfortunately, people have attached a lot of negative experiences and observations to God based off experiences with His imperfect people. I pray we have hearts to detach those experiences from our perspective on God and seek out who He really is for ourselves, despite those negative experiences and perceptions. To those who have had the courage to open themselves up to Christ and accept Him into their lives, I would advise you prepare yourself for a time in life I refer to as ‘The Wilderness.’ This illustration is largely biblical, for example God’s chosen people (Israel), John the Baptist… even Jesus himself had close experiences with God as He lead them into the wilderness.
God uses this part of our journey to insert His divine character into us when, in fact, there wouldn’t be any other way based on our human nature and it’s relationship with sin, making us hostile towards God. He does this through a time of testing, trial, suffering, spiritual hunger & thirst, and the list goes on. All of these experiences are essential in creating a desperate dependency on Him and Him alone.
I hope the Wilderness encourages you, or perhaps helps you identify where exactly you are on your journey with the Lord. And ultimately, I hope it aides you in your trust in Him, and the promises He offers for all who believe ✝️ 🕊 ❤️🔥🙌🏻🌵🏜
