*APPOINTMENT COMMITTEE VETS 6 PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEES*
The Committee on Appointment and Public Service, chaired by the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Honourable Mathew Sahr Nyuma, has, on 24/3/2035, interviewed six nominees appointed for various positions. The Presidential Nominees were interviewed under oath and with live media coverage.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Mathew Sahr Nyuma welcomed the Presidential Nominees and the public. He explained that the essence of the Committee is to scrutinize, in order to ascertain the capability and competence of the nominees.
Honourable Mathew Sahr Nyuma said, 'the nominees will be asked questions relating to their various jobs and offices they will be occupying. "The interview is centered on issues pertaining to their educational background, proven track records in pertinent work situations, and strict procedures, among others."he said.
The Committee interviewed the following Presidential Nominees:
1. Ambassador Mohamed Foday Yumkella, Proposed Ambassador of Sierra Leone
Embassy ,Conakry ,Republic of Guinea
2. Dr. Abdul Rahim Jalloh, Proposed Deputy Minister I, Ministry of Energy.
3. Mr. John Sumailah. Chairman,Rokel Commercial Bank
4. Madam Mary Massah Katta,Proposed
Massah Katta,Proposed Member, Sierra Leone Road Safety

5. Mr.David Fortune .Proposed Board Member, Independent Commission for Peace and
National Cohesion
6. Mr. Moses Tiffer Baio, Proposed Chief Immigration Officer.
The vetting process ended with possible recommendation for Parliamentary approval of the Nominees.
