ARMED ROBBERY & SHOOTING UNDER INVESTIGATION
On June 5, 2026, officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to the Burger King parking lot located on Highway 82 in reference to an armed robbery and shooting incident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a victim was sitting inside a vehicle while picking up a food delivery order when he was approached by two unknown male suspects. The suspects demanded the victim's property and took his cellular phone.
As the victim attempted to leave the area, one of the suspects discharged a firearm in his direction. The victim exited his vehicle and pursued the suspect who had taken the phone. During the encounter, another shot was fired before the suspects discarded the phone and fled on foot toward the Smith Street apartment area.
The victim sustained a minor graze wound to the neck and declined medical treatment at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.
