From the first memory around the time I was 4-5 years old I was molested by what was supposed to be my dads best friend. I was around 12 when I finally told someone what was going on. Throughout the years especially during my addiction I always wondered what made me use. It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s did I find out that untreated trauma is the why a lot of people use drugs. I had been to drug treatment several times but it wasn’t until I went through the drug court program that I learned what caused my addiction and what tools to use. I’m now over 12 years clean from co***ne.
