Many remain without power from the effects of the storms rolling through West Michigan last night. Consumers Energy has estimated anywhere from this evening to the overnight hours (6-12-26) for restoration. (as of 9:45am 6-11-26)

The boil water advisory is officially over. We passed our test and everyone can go back to normal. Again great news there is no need to boil your drinking water.

NEWS MEDIA INFORMATION REPORT

SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Truck vs. E-Bicycle Injury Crash

DATE AND TIME: Friday June 5, 2026, around 8:34 AM

LOCATION: S Vickeryville Rd at E Colby Rd, Township of Evergreen, County of Montcalm

AUTHORITY/CONTACT PERSON: Sheriff Mike Williams

Deputies responded to the area of S Vickeryville Rd and E Colby Rd for the report of a truck vs. bicycle crash.

Investigation determined that a 19-year-old man from Crystal was riding an E-Bicycle east on E Colby Rd and failed to stop at the stop sign. The rider continued into the intersection and struck the side of a 2020 Mack “rollback” truck. The truck was driven by a 26-year-old man from Fenwick. The E-Bicycle rider was flown from the crash scene by helicopter for life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured in the crash.

Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. The driver of the truck was believed to be wearing his seatbelt. The rider of the E-Bicycle was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.

The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Montcalm County Central Dispatch, Montcalm County Emergency Services, Michigan State Police – Motor Carrier Division, AeroMed, and the Crystal Township Fire Department.

Village of Sheridan MI as of noon 6-5-26 has updated their water issue:

Water Update.........
The Boil Water Advisory is still in place. If you need more information it is posted on the Village's website. villageofsheridan.com.
We did get one passing water test, but we still need one more. The results for the second one will be back tomorrow afternoon and I will post the results at that time.
