Global Entry Is our Favorite — Here’s Why
Out of all the travel programs and documents available—CLEAR, TSA PreCheck, the Passport Card, and the Passport Book—Global Entry stands out as my absolute favorite. The main reason? Lines. Or rather, the lack of them.
Global Entry is the ultimate time-saver when re-entering the U.S. from international travel. While others are stuck waiting in long customs lines, I get to breeze through a dedicated kiosk in minutes. That kind of efficiency feels unbeatable—especially after a long international flight.
Sure, TSA PreCheck is great for speeding through security domestically (and it’s included with Global Entry), but it doesn’t help you skip the U.S. customs line like Global Entry does. And CLEAR speeds things up even more by letting you cut to the front of security lines—but it’s expensive and only works at participating airports.
Then there are the Passport Book and Passport Card. Essential? Yes. But they’re just documents—not programs that actively save you time. The Passport Book is necessary for international flights, while the Passport Card is limited to land and sea travel to certain countries. They’re useful, but they don’t offer the same sense of VIP travel that Global Entry does.
Bottom line? When it comes to making travel smoother, faster, and less stressful, Global Entry wins every time.
