When I was this age, I never wanted to grow up, and I never wore a dress without long pants under it! I saw my parents work themselves to the bone, their tired eyes and weary smiles. My Mom, humming while cooking...I think, to keep the fatigue away. The constant chores and never ending baby cloth diaper changing . All I wanted to do was ride my red bicycle and dream of being Nick from the show, 'The big valley'. Lol!!...message or comment PRINT for more info. 💘💘

Should I stay or should I go?
She knew the comfort of the known. They offered shelter and a warm fire, but the tension of the jagged basalt cliffs began to feel less like peace and more like an ending. The protective blanket felt like a shroud. The time came when she deliberately chose the red dress so she wouldn't become blurred and just another shadow against the stone, under the constant bruised, overcast sky. Staying meant accepting that the world had narrowed down to this wind scoured gorge. Have you ever felt this way? The feelings I had felt months before leaving my husband and my home.
