In this time lapsed video, you get to see my editing process for an episode! Now, this process isn't the exact same for every single show, but there's a lot of similarities, such as...⁠

✔️ Decreasing persistent background sounds⁠
✔️ Rescuing takes when clipping happens⁠
✔️ Boosting bass for some female speakers⁠
✔️ Reducing the smacking sounds our lips make when talking⁠
✔️ Improving harsh sounds⁠
✔️ Cutting down the strength of plosives⁠
✔️ Shortening long pauses⁠
✔️ Reducing dynamic range⁠
✔️ Adjusting amplitude based on perceived loudness⁠

Does that sound like a lot? Or did it even make sense? 🤣⁠

Here's the thing: as an avid podcast listener with very sensitive hearing, I don't do bare basic editing. Honestly, what does that even mean? With pretty much anything I do, I give it my all and everything listed above is part of my foundational editing process. Meaning that every client on any package gets AT LEAST this. That's MY bare basic 😉⁠

So, why am I sharing this? Well...⁠
1. I think it's cool when folks give us a peek at their behind the scenes work!⁠
2. I don't believe most people (even seasoned podcast hosts) really know what goes on behind the scenes⁠
3. To give you a realistic look into the love, care, + dedication that goes into my promised editing process⁠

When people ask "How's it going!" how many times can I say, "It's a journey," before it gets old?

I took this photo last week and I'm in love. I made it the wallpaper on my phone and last night, I looked at it and said...

"I love you"

To say that this last week has been rough is an understatement. I made a decision to put myself first. To get acquainted with my truest self. The full moon was Monday and I woke up at 3:30 in the morning on full alert. There was something calling in me to just let go. To release. And I chose to answer.

The last few years for me have definitely been a journey and I feel I'm ALWAYS trying to "figure it out" and I'm honestly tired of it. I don't believe we ever get "there," but really, I'd at least like a pit stop along the way. Maybe at a nice resort? 😅

This felt like the longest week ever. I have no idea what this new week has in store for me, but I'm sharing this as a reminder to myself why I'm doing this in the first place.

I found myself wide awake in the early hours of today. That's very unlike me. I love my sleep and if I can sleep a little longer, I often will.

But, something was just stirring in me and had me wide awake when I woke up in the middle of the night.

If you follow the moon cycles, you may know there's a full moon today. I've read that it's a time when energy peaks. You can feel very emotional. And I thought, that's what it is.

For the last few days, I've felt my emotions growing and growing. My mind has been churning and churning. So, when I realized that thoughts were racing through my mind and I felt my emotions throughout my body, I chose to meditate. To ground myself. I got up, lit my candles, grabbed my crystals, set intentions, and prayed.

There's no marketing reason for me to share this with you. I have no end-of-the-story lesson for you. Simply, I wanted to share this with you. I hope that, if there's anything holding you back from what you truly want, that you're able to become aware of it and release it. 💛

Today I’m wondering if “Professional Learner” is a route I should explore in life.

I’m an avid course taker. Avid researcher. Avid idea creator / collector. And really, if I can simply spend my time experiencing people’s courses + searching Pinterest for ideas, that’s what I’d be doing. While traveling and exploring, finding delicious foods + off the beaten path experiences to share... 😋

If money + the need to monetize everything we enjoy weren’t an issue, what’s something you could spend so much time doing? 💛
