I randomly asked on my local buy nothing group if anyone had any metal flamingos they were getting rid of. To my astonishment someone said "let me see if mine are still in the junk pile". Holy hold my breath moment. I was able to pull them from the trash and they are my favorite treasure. 😍

Definitely giving her some taller legs, doing new cushions and upholstery cause she’s seen better days. according to the research I’ve attempted to do on the company that built her, they were only in business for 20 years from 30’s-50’s and did mostly custom builds so it’s been an interesting ride so far and I’m barely getting started. Wish me luck on my first restoration journey!
Also don’t judge my half assed backdrop 😅 Im trying out some colors virtually before I commit and the background made it difficult to see the wood.

Folks, this might be the weirdest thing I have ever found in a thrift shop. At first glance it's a pretty little box, with what appear to be real dried flowers decorating the lid.
Then you open it.
The smell of orange hits like a sledgehammer.
This pretty little box is made from an orange rind.

Not weird but extremely wonderful! I found baby Miss Piggy, baby Kermit, and baby Fozzie bear. I remember I had Miss Piggy as a kid and I loved her! The tags say 1987. I found them at the Goodwill in Yakima, WA.

Guys, I am SO STOKED! On a random trip to Woodland Park (the "city above the clouds" just up hwy 24 from Colorado Springs) we decided to stop at the Goodwill. After a long day, I needed to sit down. I chose this sturdy looking chair (back problems make me choose support, not soft cushions). It was excellent. I stood up, meaning to join the others. Then saw the plaque. I had been chilling in a 103 year old chair! It was marked at $14.99, but furniture was 50% off that day. I carried it around the store to keep it safe (though it is at least 40 lbs), and you best believe it came home with me! All the way down unpaved Rampart Range Road through the mountains in a Subaru lol. 😍

I have been looking for this Calamityware Mug in the wild for the longest time! I squealed with joy when I found it here at The Salvation Army Thrift in Milford Delaware. $.99 cents!!! Ask any one who knows me…I am a firm believer in Things Could Be Worse and danced my way to the checkout.
