Q94 News Alert!

A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. Monday has claimed the life of a Davie, Fla. man. Joseph Alexander Halford, 21, was fatally injured when the 2017 Hyundai Accent, he was a passenger in, collided head-on with the 2008 Lexus ES350 driven by Timothy Terill Beasley Jr., 21, of Camden. Halford was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Beasley was injured and airlifted to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 16-year-old juvenile, was also injured and transported to a local area hospital for treatment. The crash occurred on Alabama 10 near the 110 mile marker, approximately eight miles west of Greenville city limits, in Butler County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Q94 Traffic Alert!

Update 8:00pm. The scene is clear and the road is now open.

A two-vehicle crash with a fatality and other serious injuries occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. has caused a road closure. Alabama 10 near the 110 mile marker in Butler County ( Hwy 10 West of Greenville Approx. 9 miles from the intersection of Hwy 10 and I-65) is currently closed and will be for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.

Q94 Breaking News!

The Butler Co. Board of Education has approved the hiring of Gary Johnston as Greenville High School Head Football Coach.

Johnston comes to Greenville from Foley where he has been the the Offensive coordinator/Assistant Head Coach for the past 4 years. Johnston has a total of 12 years coaching experience, having served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach at Elberta, Citronelle and Luverne High School.

Before his coaching career, Mr. Johnston was quarterback at the University of West Alabama where he was named to the All-Conference and All-American teams.

GHS principal Bryant Marlow will be live on Q94 Friday morning at 7 to discuss the in depth hiring process and other details relating to Greenville’s new head coach.
