A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 14, has claimed the life of an Alabaster man. Cameron Brice Acreman, 23, was fatally injured when the 1998 Ford F150 he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. Acreman was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 31, approximately three miles south of Greenville city limits, in Butler County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Q94 News Alert!


A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. Sunday, July 13, has claimed the life of a Tennessee woman. Dessie S. Medley, 74, of Speedwell, Tenn., was fatally injured when the 2024 Honda CRV, she was a passenger in, was struck by the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, driven by Joseph R. O’Bryant, 39, of Moundville. Dessie S. Medley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Joseph R. O’Bryant and Lindsay A. O’Bryant, 42, of Moundville, who was a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz, were both injured and transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment. A 13-year-old and 16-year-old, who were also both passengers in the Mercedes-Benz, were also injured and transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

Dana K. Rose, 53, of Follette, Tenn., who was the driver of the Honda, and Riley S. Collett, 23, of Follette, Tenn., who was a passenger, were both injured and transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment. An 18-year-old, who was also a passenger in the Honda, was injured and transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 55 near the 42 mile marker, approximately four miles northwest of Red Level, in Covington County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Q94 News Update!

A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:05 p.m. Sunday, July 13, has claimed the life of a Luverne woman. Donna M. Tome, 58, was fatally injured when the 1999 Nissan Maxima she was driving was struck by the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban driven by James T. Vann, 43, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. Tome was transported to Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne, where she later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Shawn A. Greive, 36, of Luverne, who was a passenger in the Maxima, was also injured and transported Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 331 near the 55 mile marker, approximately one mile north of Luverne, in Crenshaw County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Traffic Alert between McKenzie and Red Level!

Update…5:15pm. The scene is now clear and the roadway is open.

A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:03 p.m. Sunday, July 13, has caused a road closure. Alabama 55 near the 43 mile marker at Lloyd Mill Road in Covington County is currently closed and will be for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene.

ALDOT's shoulder work repair of I-65 Northbound will continue this morning beginning at the Georgiana exit and moving North throughout the day. Be prepared for one lane traffic in the work area.

Update....3:30...The work has concluded for the day.

ALDOT will once again be doing shoulder work on I-65 Northbound today. The work will begin at the Garland exit and proceed North throughout the day. Be prepared for one lane traffic in the moving work zone area. Please slow down and drive safely.

Update 3:25pm....The work has concluded for the day.

ALDOT is conducting shoulder work on I-65 today. Work will begin this morning at the 109 South mile marker and once work has been completed to the Garland exit they will then begin work on the Northbound side. Expect one lane traffic in the immediate work area. Please be on alert for workers and slow down.

Q94 Traffic Update:

A single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle that occurred at approximately 2 p.m. has caused a lane closure. Both northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the 107 mile marker in Butler County are currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
