Breakdown and Graphic by : Tyler Butler

Here’s a few names to watch for during the Cowboys search

1. Brian Flores- He’s been on the Cowboys radar for a few years and was almost hired before the team decided to go with Dan Quinn Instead. His contract is up with the Vikings

2. Jim Swartz - veteran coach, familiar with the NFC East landscape with his time in Philadelphia, all Browns coaches are now available after the firing of their Head Coach. Super Bowl winning D Coordinator at Philly.

3. Raheem Morris. May not be the best Head Coach, but is a HELL if a Defensive mind. He was the D coordinator of the Superbowl winning Rams.

4. Leslie Fraizer. Was interviewed for the Cowboys Head Coaching position before the hired Schottenheimer. Currently assistant to the defense of the Seahawks and previous six seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

5. Jim Leonard. He’s currently the assistant coach of the Broncos, but it’s his NOT Vance Joseph defense scheme that has turned the Broncos back into a Problem! Many are expecting Joseph to possibly get a Head Coaching position somewhere so that may be a long shot.

6. Johnathan Gannon. Recently fired by Arizona, but lead the Eagles defense on the last Superbowl run. He’s young and innovative. Something the Cowboys has lacked over the last three seasons.

Honorable mention

Al Harris- the longtime Cowboys defensive back coach. He turned countless defensive backs into Pro Bowl talents and now doing the same for the Bears.

Media Release:

CLEMSON, S.C. — Head Coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson Football announced today that Clemson has hired Chad Morris as Offensive Coordinator. The hire was finalized Monday by the Clemson University Board of Trustees Compensation Committee.

Morris is expected to be formally introduced in a press conference later in January. Details on the press conference will be finalized and distributed at a later date. Full comments from Swinney and Morris are included at the bottom of this release.

Morris returns to Clemson for his second stint as its offensive coordinator after four record-setting seasons with the Tigers from 2011-14. In that time as Clemson’s offensive coordinator from 2011 through the end of the 2014 regular season, Clemson compiled a 41-11 record, recording a 27-6 mark against ACC opponents with a victory in the 2011 ACC Championship Game.

ā€œThere are always tough decisions that have to be made in this profession, and though I had to make a couple tough decisions, it was an easy decision to hire Chad Morris,ā€ Swinney said. ā€œI’m really excited for our players. It’s pretty cool to have guys like DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins and a bunch of great players shooting me text messages with their excitement knowing what’s to come offensively. I think we’ve got elite offensive personnel, and the name of the game is points. The one thing I know about Chad, he knows how to score points, and so I’m excited to welcome him and his family back.ā€

What can I say about 2025?

First and foremost, thank you to my staff—none of this would have been possible without each and every one of you. This year was defined by sadness, sacrifice, and solidarity, but also by growth, purpose, and resilience.

We proudly completed our third annual Media Academy, which gave birth to Sports & Culture Jr. That program has truly humbled me. Watching young students live out their dreams as members of the media reminded me why we do this work. Because of Sports & Culture Jr., we were also able to expand our footprint into the Myrtle Beach area and Rock Hill, South Carolina, bringing opportunities, exposure, and access to even more young people across the state.

2025 also brought unforgettable opportunities—sitting down with a Hall of Fame coach, gaining wisdom from someone who has reached the pinnacle of the game, and watching members of Sports & Culture grow in real time as they covered media days and championship games. Seeing our team operate confidently in those spaces was a full-circle moment.

We continued to strengthen our relationships with Clemson University and local high schools across the great state of South Carolina, expanding our reach and impact. Through DL6, we were able to branch into the scouting department, opening doors to new opportunities and growth.

Because of the support from The Carolina Law Group, we expanded beyond what we once imagined—including taking our first-ever trip to Yankee Stadium, a milestone moment for our brand.

2025 was a great year—challenging, meaningful, and rewarding.
And we’re not slowing down.

We’re kicking off 2026 with a HUGE announcement…
Stay tuned.
