Here is a story that I put together for a reimagined Justice League: Detroit

Justice League: Detroit — Rise of the Motor City Titans

In the shadow of abandoned factories, economic collapse, gang wars, political corruption, and forgotten promises, a new kind of justice was born—not from gods in towers, but from people who understood struggle.

Detroit had become a battleground.

When the federal government quietly abandoned Project Foundry—an experimental metahuman weapons initiative hidden beneath the ruins of an old automotive plant—something awakened beneath the city. Alien energy signatures, stolen military tech, mystical artifacts, and experimental power sources merged into a catastrophic event known as The Blackout Storm.

For 48 hours, Detroit lost power.

But something else happened.

Seven lives changed forever.

Benjamin Turner / Bronze Tiger — The Warrior Redeemed

Benjamin “Ben” Duncan—known in underground circles as Bronze Tiger—was once one of the deadliest covert operatives in the world.

Raised in Detroit’s hardest neighborhoods, Ben escaped violence through discipline, eventually becoming a military tactician and elite martial artist. But years of black-ops missions left him haunted by the people he had hurt.

Returning home seeking redemption, Ben opened a youth combat academy on Detroit’s west side, helping young men avoid gang life.

When the Blackout Storm unleashed enhanced criminals into the streets, Ben stepped back into violence—not as an assassin, but as a protector.

He became the team’s strategist and battlefield commander, believing:

“Detroit doesn’t need saviors. It needs people willing to stay.”

Vixen / Vixen — Spirit of the Ancestors

Marie McCabe came to Detroit after inheriting her family’s mystical artifact: the Tantu Totem.

The daughter of African activists, Marie worked in international humanitarian aid while secretly using the totem to channel the strength of Earth’s animals.

During the Blackout Storm, the city’s spiritual balance fractured. Ancient energies hidden beneath Detroit’s forgotten land stirred violent supernatural forces.

Marie realized Detroit itself carried spiritual scars.

She stayed.

Using the power of lions, falcons, gorillas, elephants, and wolves, Vixen became Detroit’s protector of both people and spirit.

To her, Detroit was not broken.

It was wounded.

And wounded things deserved healing.

Mal Duncan / The Gold Hornet — Voice of Power

Malcolm Duncan had always felt overshadowed.

A gifted engineer, former athlete, and community organizer, Malcolm grew frustrated watching corporations exploit Detroit while neighborhoods crumbled.

While investigating Project Foundry, he discovered an experimental sonic exosuit powered by resonance frequencies tied to emotional energy.

He rebuilt it himself.

The suit became The Gold Hornet—a sleek golden armored system capable of sonic flight, energy blasts, vibration shields, and electromagnetic disruption.

Malcolm became the team’s heart.

Not the strongest.

Not the flashiest.

But the one who refused to quit.

Bumblebee / Bumblebee — Genius of the Future

Dr. Karen Beecher-Duncan was Detroit’s brightest scientific mind.

A robotics engineer and biochemist, Karen had spent years creating technology for affordable medicine and urban rebuilding.

After Project Foundry exploded, she recovered fragments of nanotech linked to experimental size-shifting energy.

She reverse-engineered it.

The result:

Bumblebee Armor

Small enough to infiltrate enemy systems.

Strong enough to level armored tanks.

Fast enough to rival fighter jets.

Karen became the team’s chief scientist, tactician, and moral center.

When others saw broken systems—

Karen rebuilt them.

Steel / Steel — The Builder of Tomorrow

John Henry Irons returned to Detroit after abandoning weapons manufacturing.

An engineering genius burdened by guilt, John dedicated himself to rebuilding neighborhoods destroyed by neglect.

But Project Foundry’s stolen tech ended up in criminal hands.

Forced into action, John created a massive hammer and powered steel armor from salvaged industrial materials.

Inspired by the city’s factory workers and laborers, he became Steel.

Not because he wanted war—

But because somebody had to stand between families and destruction.

To Detroit’s people, Steel became something rare:

A symbol of hope.

Black Lightning / Black Lightning — Protector of the Community

Jefferson Pierce came to Detroit as an educator.

A former Olympic athlete and respected principal, Jefferson worked to protect students trapped between poverty and violence.

When a metahuman gang fueled by Project Foundry threatened his school, dormant electrical powers awakened inside him.

Lightning bent to his will.

But Jefferson understood power wasn’t enough.

Kids needed mentors.

Families needed advocates.

He fought crime by day—

And saved lives in classrooms by morning.

The city called him Black Lightning.

His students called him hope.

Sojourner Mullein / Green Lantern — Cosmic Guardian of the Forgotten City

When the Blackout Storm sent strange energy signals into space, a power ring found its way to Detroit.

Not to a billionaire.

Not to a soldier.

But to Sojourner “Jo” Mullein.

A former military investigator and fearless detective, Jo had spent years exposing corruption no one wanted uncovered.

The Green Lantern ring chose her for one reason:

Fearlessness.

Jo discovered the Blackout Storm wasn’t random.

Detroit had become the center of an intergalactic conspiracy involving stolen alien energy hidden beneath the city for decades.

To protect Earth—

She stayed in Detroit.

Because heroes shouldn’t only protect capitals and coastlines.

Sometimes they protect forgotten places.

The Formation of the Justice League: Detroit

Their first battle came when corrupt industrialist Victor Foss, empowered by alien Foundry technology, transformed into the cybernetic warlord known as Motor King, intending to weaponize Detroit and sell the city block by block.

No single hero could stop him.

Bronze Tiger brought discipline.

Vixen brought spirit.

Gold Hornet brought innovation.

Bumblebee brought science.

Steel brought strength.

Black Lightning brought conviction.

Green Lantern brought cosmic power.

Together—

They saved Detroit.

And when the world asked why they didn’t move to Metropolis or Gotham, Bronze Tiger answered:

“Because this city is worth fighting for.”

Thus rose the new Justice League: Detroit—

Not gods above the people.

But heroes among them.

A League built from resilience.

A League forged in steel.

A League born in Detroit.

It is amazing how many of these indie comic publishers are rushing to the defense of DC comics. This is the same company that was going to make its 1st black character with his own book a white man who shouted black power. They chose not give Vixen her own book after the DC implosion. The facts are they are nor giving black books enough time to find its audience.

We have been with this so long it has become normal. Now someone spoke up everybody is in a uproar. We ask for a black representation in a company who has a monopoly in the industry and now black jobs are in danger? What?

Whatever ever personal beefs that these indie guys have with Ernie and his partner its irrelevant. It has been over 1200 days since DC had a major black character in the main universe. No Absolute Green Lantern does not count. God bless these indie guys but they are not in the stores. You have to seek them out and the price of indie book is 8.99 plus shipping vs paying 4.99 in the store.

Guess what because of this boycott DC has heard us.

Comic book fans are lazy. When we go in the store we want to see our guys on the shelves. I will be buying DC books off the shelf but I will not pre-order a book. Until I see a black character in the mainstream yes we will continue the boycott and ask others to do the same.

Tonight's mystery movie at the Golden Ticket was the The Furious (also known as The Furious 2025 / 2026) was a masterful return to the Golden Age of Hong Kong action cinema. The movie directed by Kenji Tanigaki, was a martial arts spectacle pairs a simple kidnapping plot with breathtaking, hyper-creative fight choreography. The entire theater was enthralled with all the non stop action in the movie. The people got so intuned like they were part of the movie. The was so good nobody left the theater until they were sure the movie was over. One the patrons we talked to compared this to the original OLDBOY.

The Furious is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on June 12, 2026

Let's do something new. Mention this post in the shop to enter for a chance for two tickets to see the new Masters of the Universe movie. We'll announce a time when we're going to see it in case anyone wants to join us as well.

NEW YORK (AP) — A day after the President Donald Trump-affiliated Freedom 250 announced the "first wave" of performers for "The Great American State Fair" shows on Washington's National Mall in June and July, Sexual Chocolate was listed among the scheduled acts who have said they will not be appearing.

Sexual Chocolate lead singer and actor Randy Watson issued a statement on social media despite not ever being on Wednesday's announcement from Freedom 250 that neither him or any of the other group members had been asked to come.

Mr. Watson stated "The Children Are Our Future" not the President of the United States.

It has been over three years since DC had a black character with their own book in the main universe. This matters. DC has a terrible history when it comes to representation in 2026 they should be doing way better. They have several characters with name recognition that could lead their own book especially with a push from the TV show and the movies and we get nothing. We are not begging DC for anything but we are demanding that Nubia, Black Lightning, Vixen to name a few get the spotlight they deserve. We also believe DC feels that their fans are Republicans who will not buy black books and their not enough of black readers to care. We showed them with that Mikestone book that narrative is false. Join us with the hash tag to let them know how we feel.

Social media brought us to this show. It started off kinda slow but the more time you put into you start to get the reward. The name of this show should of been obsession. This is a story of two men who are so obsessed with their own personal vendetta it destroys and neglects the people around it. We applaud the writer about taking the formula of a cop obsession with the bad guy and flips it on its head with a conclusion we all saw coming. We enjoyed staying up to 3am to finish the episodes because it demanded it and refused to hold back. This is a great watch and highly recommended.

I mean there is no way this can happen for real right?

An evangelical pastor and spiritual adviser to Homelander is defending a 22-foot golden statue of the superhero against criticism that it promotes false idol worship during its unveiling to the world yesterday.

“It represents the miracle of God, that’s what it represents,” Pastor Ezekiel, who was reportedly instrumental in getting the statue erected, told James Hanson on LBC.

On Wednesday, Ezekiel led the ceremony that unveiled the giant gold‑leafed effigy, dubbed the “Don Colossus,” at the Homelander Nationall golf course in Washington. .

He described the statue as “a celebration of life and a powerful symbol of resilience, freedom, patriotism, courage, and the will to keep fighting for America which led to the creation of the Democratic Church of America."

This is the largest gathering of white evangelical pastors on the East Coast.
