A GoFundMe has been set up by Greenwich neighbors to help James who has been living rough with his two dogs in Greenwich. He is legally blind and has gone through some tough times. I think it's great Greenwich neighbors who got to know him are helping him get situated in a safe home.

Help James and His Dogs Find a Safe Place to Call Home. Recently, I met Jam… Anthony Celis needs your support for Help James and His Dogs Find a Safe Home

At Monday night's RTM meeting, the most closely followed vote was on school zone speed cameras in Greenwich. There was strong opposition voiced by dozens of individual speakers, but the committees had previously mostly voted in favor. The motion to approve passed, but it was split: 100 in favor, 60 opposed and 3 abstentions. https://bit.ly/3SdP8T0

What's that hole they're excavating downtown? We did a hardhat tour yesterday with Benedict Court developers Joe Tranfo and Phil Wharton of Nimbus Properties who estimate construction on the 6-story 120 rental apartment development with 40% affordable units will be complete in the second half of 2028. There will be a mix of spacious 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments with 10 ft ceilings. The building will be professionally managed and feature many amenities, including a dining room, fitness center and game room. https://bit.ly/4oASThA

At the end of the last school board meeting an action item on extending the Superintendent’s contract through the 2028-2029 school year ended in a tie vote along party lines. The Republicans all opposed the extension. A majority vote is required to pass. A tie vote means the motion fails. The chair had wanted to table the contract extension item until the board's first business meeting in September in order to revise the superintendent's evaluation process to make it more "robust." Democrats said Jones already had her evaluation and it was glowing. https://bit.ly/4esGoQq
