GHS World language teachers weigh in with concerns about FTE reductions:
"The K-12 World Language program has suffered cuts over the past few years. Last year, the weekly instructional minutes in our elementary school program (FLES) were severely reduced....This decrease in instructional minutes can only result in slowing down the learning curve for our elementary language students, thus, impacting their future study at the secondary level. However, Greenwich High School continues to have world language study as a graduation requirement, and many colleges want to see world language study beyond what GHS requires. Any reduction of FTE at the high school level would decrease opportunities to fulfill these requirements." https://bit.ly/49j9ekM

Central Middle School PTA Executive Board: Response to Potential Cuts "We need to encourage the BOE to open the open enrollment process ASAP. Dr. Jones and the GPS administration continue to grant waivers to students from CMS catchment, coupled by years of a condemned building and construction resulting in artificial enrollment data. With a brand-new facility and the same amazing teachers, we strongly believe CMS will become a very appealing option for many." Full LETTER here: https://bit.ly/44vxH3F
