That ghost-town (or more accurately, a small village) was called Germantown. Here’s what I found (and where my doubts lie): • Germantown was founded in the 1830s and existed more than a century before its land was bought out for Geist Reservoir.  • In the early 1940s, when they built the dam and flooded Fall Creek valley, the area including Germantown was cleared and inundated.  • Rumors say that when water levels are extremely low one might see foundations or even a church steeple (though no confirmed structure has been verified).
