Low-end risk of tropical development over Florida in the coming days.

While the threat of a named storm is LOW, this disturbance will likely produce heavy rainfall for Florida's East Coast, widespread 5"+ along the East Coast and some spots approaching 8-10" over the next week.

Latest trends have been to stall off the South Carolina coast rather than making a direct landfall.

This would be GREAT news for both coastal regions and the Appalachians.

Still believe that the South Carolina coast, SE Georgia and S. NC can experience bands of heavy rain and wind, but this outcome would prevent the worst case scenario.

⚠️The latest hurricane models continue to indicate a landfall in South Carolina late Monday next week for what will become .

A few models try to stall Imelda out before landfall which would be best case scenario for the coast and Appalachians - but not our favored idea at this time.

An inland track would pose MAJOR flooding concerns for the Western Carolina Apps region.

⚠️ What will become Imelda is now expected to make landfall on the southeast coast of the US near the Carolinas late Monday. At this time we believe it can get to a hurricane status.

Along with wind and storm surge, we are concerned about amplified rains inland near the Appalachians and flooding concerns.

Latest morning data took another BIG tick west.

Confidence increasing that Imelda will develop and impact the SE US Coast Monday into Tuesday. Current indications would put the storm at Tropical Storm to Cat 1 Hurricane strength.

There remains a good amount of discrepancy between model guidance for what is expected to be .

Overnight data took a tick west with more models indicating a North/South Carolina impact.

Right now we can split potential outcomes into TRACK A vs. TRACK B. The trend has been more towards the track A idea, but confidence remains LOW and wind shear would generally lead to less favorable conditions for a strong storm with this track.

Our team is working on a full breakdown that will go out on the Clarity Weather app later this morning.
