More Punishment for Gun Violence - Look at the following list in full and let us know what you think.
Under 18 Years Old
1st Offenders & Non-Injured Violence is given a choice:
A. Arrested and faces normal charges
B. 2 Years Mandatory Community Rehabilitation Program CRP (completed without further incident = charges expunged
Repeat Offender & Non-Injured Violence under 18 yrs:
• Arrested and faces normal charges plus mandatory 2 year Community Rehabilitation Program.
• If already enrolled in the CRP or previously completed CRP, then Normal charges with ankle monitoring, restricted movement for 1 year.
Violence with injury or death
• Maximum Charge without bond
Over 18 Years old
1st Offence Non-Injured
• Arrested, Charged, Bond Opportunity
• Mandatory 1 year monitoring, School or Workforce, if neither = mandatory Community Work Program
Repeat Offender Non-Injured
• Arrested, Charged, No Bond and Mandatory Community Work Program
Violence with injury or death
• Maximum Charge, No Bond
Felony with Gun Violence
• Maximum Charge, No Bond, Max Sentence
Two programs mentioned above:
CRP (Community Rehabilitation Program - mainly geared toward 18 & under to help guide individuals to make better choices, work within the community, better education, workforce development etc. Parental involvement too.
Mandatory Community Work - a program designed to give some individuals the ability to work for the betterment of the community for some part of their crime punishment.
