Guess baths aren’t so bad after all 🫧🐶

Both my husband and I wrestled for our local highschools. Today marks a special day, not only is it my highschool wrestling coach’s birthday, but now I get to feel what it’s like to coach him while he bathes his dogs. How the tables have turned 😜

With a desire to work in the fun world of pets with their loving owners, and also to fill a need for a self-serve pet wash in east Multnomah County, Diane left her career at Precision Machinist to follow a dream. Seventeen years and almost 100,000 dogs later, Diane Jothen is as excited today about Pup Scrub as when she opened the doors on February 15, 2003.
Doing nearly two years of research of other self-serve pet wash facilities around the country, paid off as Pup Scrub set a new standard and is considered by many as one of the top facilities in the country. A business model that many new self serves across the country have tried to duplicate.
Her philosophy is simple and it is taught to all of our staff. Cleanliness is job one and the dog is the star! Don’t be surprised if on your next visit, your four-legged friend is welcomed by name. This philosophy and effort was recognized in 2004 when Pup Scrub was a finalist for Small Business of the Year Award given by the Better Business Bureau for Portland and SW Washington. Since that time they are also a two-time winner of the Gresham Outlook's Readers Choice Award as voted by their readers.
Pup Scrub's goal is to offer a fun, safe and cost effective way for you to bathe your pet. One that takes the stress away from both our four- and two-legged friends, and turns the bathing process into something that you don’t have to dread doing.
From the tub and grooming table design, to the products and the tools they offer, everything is done with your dog in mind. And if you don’t see something you need, just ask and they will try to get it for you.
Pup Scrub supports the “shop local” efforts and is locally owned and operated by Diane and David Jothen of Damascus, Oregon. They have two very spoiled Keeshonds, Loki and Winnie, who are the shop mascots and are almost always there overseeing the operations. The Jothen's appreciate the fun and success they have had and enjoy providing this great service to their community.
